So in Legion, swapping between stances is a 6 second cooldown. When you swap to defensive stance, not only do you take 25% less damage, but you also deal 25% less damage. So teams are just going to tunnel the warrior the entire game, no point in switching targets. Or tunnel until he switches to D stance, then switch because he is stuck doing 25% less damage for 6 seconds minimum.

The irony - warriors going to complain about getting tunneled the whole match?

But Warriors were always viable kill targets though, were they not? Even in MoP when they had the peak of their defensive cds (Wall, Rally pre-nerf, DbtS, Second Wind).

Because the random name generator might pump out Lortfanden, which sounds like a pretty generic fantasy Warrior name in English, until you realize it means "Shit Fuck" in Danish.

I think it's a good thing for warriors to do less damage on the defensive, in general. I'd go even further and bring back old enrage and have rage mean something again so that an enraged warrior with a full rage bar was actually scary.

On that note it would be nice if plate actually meant something again too...

while i agree i think warriors still need one active button as defense, call it die by the sword or shield wall i dont care.

well locks usually get trained, still you dont have % less damage attached to portal usage or unending resolve (in legion ) usage.

i think the penalty its too high , or at least give a active defensive button

If they train the warrior you are effectively tanking their team. If they are melee you do not even need your gapclosers cause they are already in your face.
Ofcourse you deal reduced damage. But you have a nice talent that makes your rage go through the roof resulting in dealing more damage overall.

Perhaps it becomes a time we have to see defensive stance as our default stance. And battlestance a stance to punish your enemy with when they basicly ignore you.
I cannot speak for the damage on the alpha but maybe they designed arms pvp damage around being in def stance most of the time.
And battlestance in a way of. "You should have punished the warrior for being in battlestance rather then getting your ass wrecked chasing the druid."

The problem is when there is no allied healer involved. You can reduce all the damage in the world. But if your enemy is going to outsustain you with healing you do not stand a chance. Next to that we lose the mortal strike glyph. 10% healing. But gain a 5% less damage taken through artifact. This makes us somewhat more durable in defensive stance. But even less durable in battle.

After reading all the beta changes and feedback i also noticed defensives have been guted so much that we are pretty much down to defensive stance which is not even close to being as good as it used to since mop. Ofc other classes got guted as well but i feel like warrior, arms especially has been hit very hard with this changes, too hard. Watched some vids and it feels like glass cannon.

I understand blizz wants to keep both specs different fury being the more solo with high self healing while arms more about active defensives and having his health pool reliant to be kept up by allies, it seems but the thing is we got only one defensive which is not even that powerful and to get DBTS we need to sacrifice valuable mobility or our only self heal which isnt much pvp reliable tho.

I personally like the idea of it, it fits to the class fantasy more and makes some difference between the specs if not the fact that Arms's defensives are so poor and d stance so weak nowadays. I'd would like to see DBTS baseline for arms and replace it with anything useful defensive-wise, like improved Def stance or some shit reducing the damage penalty while in def stance to 10-15% smth like that.

Also if we want to keep that theme for Arms to be healer-dependant, non-selfhealing would be damn good if we'd get something like Field Dressing from cata (+% healing received from others). Lets be honest Arms was always healer dependant since i remember, only MoP was when we could actually try something solo and stuff like this would help.

"more about active defensives"

Laughed, you do realise you got one active defensive, either def stance or die by the sword. In 3s atm you get trained, you go def stance and you do literally NO DAMAGE, while still being ass rapped like you're a porn chick.

"I'd would like to see DBTS baseline for arms and replace it with anything useful defensive-wise"

i'd like old retaliation (combat rogues got it ) and a shield wall type of thing.

Would like spell reflect and intervene to only reflect/interven one attack too, but game being dumbed down so thats not gonna happend

I prefer doing less dmg over getting less rage so that we can still have fun while D'n up. However, 30% is a huge cost for not as huge as a defensive bonus (Arms is getting melted through it right now) and the CD is ridiculous. No reason to have a CD on it at all tbh, if anything give it the GCD like on live.

This could all change of course once blizz actually starts doing numbers tuning on classes.

So they just changed defensive stance to be less punishing on damage dealt. from 25 to 10%. But reduced its effectiveness back to 20%.

The most wierd part is that it is now a talent. And die by the sword became baseline instead with a 3 min cd. You will most likely take def stance for pvp anyways.

D stance also doesn't mention replacing Die By The Sword, this goes a long way towards making arms a thing again.

I was wondering why my cd is 10 until I saw when you post this.
I guess we should stay in d stance when something's cd is up like kidney.
