tbh i think deathing cc is the last of our concerns right now, did you see how shitty the playstyle of disc gonna be?
in paper it looks amazing, doing damage to heal sounds sick as fuck and fits disc very well being the offensive healer in comps like rmp

but in reality, we wont be able to heal through SHIT, we will literally get insta gibbed and cant do anything about it, at least current disc can sustain melee cleaves pretty well, in legion you might be able to do a lot of damage but trust me we wont heal for anything, i just dont see why would they make disc do as much healing as other healer classes when they can do a fuck ton of damage, theyre simply trading half of our healing (if not more) for the ability to do damage, and we have no choice in this trade

in raids discs are gonna be pretty good (i think), being the healer that does less healing than everyone but has good utility and decent damage, but pvp wont work

calling it right now, disc is the worst healer for next expansion... again

Maybe rmp might not be the best comp in the game for 1 season, nice

Started playing in late season 14 and RMP hasnt been even close to the best comp any seaso I've played.

im pretty sure it could beat lsd in mop so theres that

but then again there were like 2 good locks in eu who actually understood snapshotting xd!

Every time atonement is viable, disc is the best healer (in raids), also keep in mind you have a holy and shadow heal on alpha currently. I wouldn't bury the spec just yet.

attonement is not the same, you literally have to apply it to each person, no way you can outheal a chain heal spamming shaman lol

Also keep in mind that:
- We don't know how much heal Penance will do. + you have to talent it to heal (LOL)
- No instant heal besides Plea
- Shields nerfed to the ground (cd + the actual amount)
- Atonement heal needs a lot of setup.
- Likely, our healing done will come mostly from casted spells (heal/dmg).

So.. this might work in heavy-momentum based comps like RMP L.S.D etc. The moment you start to take pressure you won't be able to heal it out.

There is a spell that applies it in AoE and discs were competing with druids / mw monks during the boss testing a few days ago, so trust me discs are good in pve, but I agree that getting constant smites / mind blasts off during heavy pressure might be clunky.

the aoe thing only hit 5 people at a time, and its half the normal attonement duration, but i dont know, its just the way i see it, it sounds and look super weird and different for no reason

Ah I see they added this new talent:
Premonition
Instant
Heals nearby targets for (100% of Spell power), and applies Atonement to yourself.

Deals (shadow% * $BC) Shadow damage to yourself for each Atonement you have active.

12 sec cooldown.

Interesting. So either this or Inner Focus, and the target requirement (which means also the range and the idiotic facing requirement) is removed. Also since it applies Atonement on you I guess you don't actually need to have atonement active.

I still hope for original SW:Death tho. Such a fine designed and unique spell.
