demo has a retarded amount of casted spells. even more than now, except now at least we have a big burst window we can throw our dmg, but from those it looks like there'll be basically no burst, meaning demo will be absolutely useless in pvp.

destro will probably work fine with the pvp templates so they can buff all the dmg consistently for pvp and CB will be meaningful, although i dont really like the mastery.

not sure how i feel about afli. excited to try something new, but dont know how it'll really play out.
dont like that they're baking the filler spell into drain life,and 3% per tick is way too big. also dont like that drain life doesnt do consistent dmg and is, again, buffed by dots on the target. IMO it should do fixed dmg regardless of dots, especially since they said the filler is supposed to be subpar compared to the dots but then if you have no dots it'll deal less than pet dmg.

All looked pretty decent until :

Mastery: Chaotic Energies

Your Destruction spells deal up to 40% (with Mastery from typical gear) additional damage, randomly.



Just what the game needed, 2 mins spent making space to get a darksoul chaos bolt off JK didn't get mastery proc try again

Just what the game needed, 2 mins spent making space to get a darksoul chaos bolt off JK didn't get mastery proc try again

the mastery itself is indeed problematic, but that aside destro will probably be alright since they will tune destro dmg specifically for pvp.

would make more sense to have something like a variable extra crit chance (not affecting CB and shadowburn) rather than straight dmg buff.

I don't play warlock (the only time I did was Sl/SL just for points in TBC) but anyway, UA costing a Soul Shard kind of sounds like it could be super annoying if rng isn't in your favor, or am I wrong?

if it acts like a trinket procc you can try to play around it, adds a new dynamic

This looks kind of interesting though, added up with increasing the haste and health for your demons Demonic Empowerment
Call Dreadstalkers
  • 2 Soul Shards, 40 yd range, 2 sec cast, 15 sec cooldown
  • Summon 2 ferocious Dreadstalkers to attack the target for 12 sec.

It sounds like shard generation might be a lot better,

"Soul Shards are now generated by each Agony you have up on your targets, instead of only by your most recent Corruption cast, to favor placing DoTs on several targets rapidly (multi-dotting)"

So we will be rewarded for having a higher DoT uptime. I didn't see any mention of haunt, maybe it's being removed? It seems like affliction burst will be lacking if this is the case, but maybe with UA having an 8 second duration instead of 14 it will make it feel bursty? Hard to say

In legion our frequency to get shards will be 300-400% more due to multidot (now all Agony dots can give shard, not only just 1 corr) so i think we will have enough shards if we can multidot properly.
I rly like the thing they want to go back to the multidot style,where that shit mattered: u fulldotted everyone? U get rewarded and enemy rots down. Now if I fulldot the full team their hp wont rly drop unless i have:Dark Soul, Haunt,Fullrpoc,Drain Soul, Stars Aligned,Blessing from Rngods.

Looking forward to it! :D

Demo seems rly fun and destro will probably go back to it's wotlk style :3

Changes look pretty shitty to me. I'll have to see the full list of spells and talent trees to make a truer decision.

also, i dont like that shard regen has been baked into the harder hitting dot. now there is no reason to ever consider casting corru before agony since it both deals more dmg and regens shards.

DESTRO DREAM 2016, naw foreal tho I was hoping to get some new and cool to destro but it seems the same, hopefully u can do real dmg besides just chaos bolt, just like in wotlk. Hoping the pvp talents will actually make it really good, demo sounds really interesting though I kinda like the changes and I believe it's good they r removing haunt if so i believe aff should be more about all around sustained pressure instead of having better burst then the other specs.

I'm far more interested in gameplay issues regarding OTHER classes than tinkering with locks.

Can melee (ferals/rogues/enhance) fly around the map with a million interrupts?

Can several dps classes outheal via passive regen warlock dots? (feral)


There's soo much needing fixed that it honestly doesn't even matter what they change with locks until the bigger issues get resolved.

Haunt is staying, and aff also has a new dot in the artifact tree + talents in general supposedly have a lot more active abilities in legion
