Should I just tell our shaman to stand still to let me cast?

Part of what schirmy said. But the shaman must also run in a way so that u can cast as a lock. Affi lock is one of the few classes left in the game were u accualy have to stand still to do any significant dmg. I would recomend comunication here. When i play wls (nothing fancy ~2k cr) and people train my shaman i always tell him thing like "haunt inc, stay in line for 5sec" and "dots are rolling off get them in line". Quite often i dont need to tell my shaman now days. We have played togehter for 2 years and he kinda knows when he need to get in line, and the fact that he generally should never line me ever. Vs most comps the shaman accualy gain nothing from pillarhugging. Ie dubble melee... there is no purpose what so ever in running behinde a pillar.... the only thing he accumplishes by that is lowering his teams dmg. He should however use the pillars somewhat to force enemy healer in cc range. So there were u need to possition yourself a bit smart :P
