Hey guys!

I have a similiar question to the guy below me but as resto so I figured it was better to make a new thread than to steal his.

I'm just coming up back to the game and picked up rdruid as my toon to play and was wondering about this tier. Judging the top resto druids it seems like mastery druids goes incarnation and haste druids go sotf, is that correct or is like this by accident?

I mean, sotf seems like more sustained where incarnation got the burst so I'm guessing we are kinda free to swap between these on different comps or do I need that one stat with that one talent to be efficient?

Also with SotF, are both rejuv and rg viable after sm? It feels like rejuv isn't strong enough for using two gcds when beeing trained, but maybe that's just me (haven't actually tried it out with full haste)?

Thanks in advance!

I think that is just coincidence, yes. When I play my rdruid--which is rarely as I do not find the gameplay to be fun--I switch between the two depending upon the comp I am facing. If I expect high sustained damage, I go sotf, as it provides nice, steady healing with the occasional *big* heal (swiftmend->ns->regrowth). For me, and I expect most others, sotf is the default talent. Incarnation, as you correctly noted, is best for matches where you expect short windows of massive burst with long windows of manageable damage.

As for stats, I went with haste for faster clones. I don't like peeking my head out from behind a pillar for any longer than I need to, and haste facilitates the kind of gameplay I am most comfortable with. Hopefully someone who takes rdruid more seriously than I do will chime in with some math-based discussion of the value of haste vs. mastery from a healing throughput perspective.

Good luck! :)

Wow, that was a quick answer! And a good one too!

I also prefer a haste build in general so I'm happy to hear it's a coincidence. I'm gonna run SotF for a while and see what happens but since NS is on a cd I'm a bit unsure on how a single big heal can hold against two melees tunnling me. I'm guessing you never use rejuv with swiftmend?

I am not normally quite so "Johnny on the spot" with my replies heh. As for swiftmending into a rejuv, I do ocassionally, yes. There is no point in swiftmending into a regrowth (especially if you run the regrowth glyph as I do) if your target is near max health since you end up losing most of that heal to overhealing, but swiftmending into a rejuv is nice as it helps to smooth out incoming damage. It really depends on how much damage your target is taking at that moment, imo. Again, however, I am not a rank 1 rdruid, so take anything I say with a grain of salt.

On a side note, it is nice to have polite, friendly people posting on AJ. If this community is ever going to make a comeback, that is going to be a major reason. :)
