Penance, PW: Shield every 30 seconds (absorbing alot more than guard), vanish (with decoy), psychic scream, Psyfiend (ever more fear) and Power Infusion. The heals themselves are powerful as fuck, and if you can't burst a priest down within the first 5-8 seconds of the Arena, he's likely to never go below 50%.

Lets just pretend I didn't read about half of that, it's very biased and very wrong - and we're cool! :D

Im interested in what you suggest for gear, rotation, enchants, 2h or 2x 1h.

I'll be the first to admit I'm not very into what Priests are about in 6.0.3 (played priest for the entirety of TBC, though). However, except RestoDroods, DiscPriests are consistantly the hardest class to kill, both for me and most of the guys I play with. Just an observation, deffo biased indeed. :P

ANYWAYS! TOPIC!

Gear-wise, just go PvP-gear all the way, really. They scale up ridiculously, compared to regular PvE gear. Dual Wield is the way to go. Enchant with Shattered Hand if you can't afford Blackrock (or what it's named). The thing is, given the lack of damaging abilities - since BMs are tanks really -, attack power is needed. Mastery adds to it, as well as Bonus Armor, besides the obvious Agility. Therefore, the legendary 680 ring (from the quest chain) is worth having with the Bonus Armor on it. Other PvE 660+ iLvL items with Mastery and/or Bonus Armor is also viable.

Rotation is a wierd one, since BM's dont really have one. Keg Smash more or less on CD (unless you see a GOOD reason to save it), keep Dizzying Haze and/or Disable up at all times. Burst is made up of Jab, Keg Smash, Serenity and BoKick spam until ut runs out. Rest is just mitigation, support through Guard and utilizing Paralyse, Leg Sweep and Breath of Fire (on DH'ed targets) to CC.
You can just as well pop Xuen at the start of the fight. Most fights with a Brewmaster included tend be quite lengthy, though.

I get why some find Brewmasters to be OP, but the main problem (the way I see it), is the way all the classes are set up at the moment. As most classes can do the same things, the are few specialists left. Warriors, Death Knights and Paladins are almost interchangable in terms of utility and damage, and is only seperated by the fact Warriors somehow ended up as the squishy ones. There is nothing I love more to face in PvP than a warrior, and this goes for most PvP'ers I know as well.

From someone who has played this spec to almost 9 million CR (mmr, actual rating was slightly lower)

Stats:
Versatility (most teams will go on u because you are squishy) > Bonus armor (give AP and more defensive) > Mastery (gives AP and more stagger AKA slightly less damage taken) > Crit (gives elusive brew stacks) = haste (pretty much useless) = multistrike (also pretty useless)

Rotation:
Keg Smash
Rushing Jade Wind
Blackout kick (to dump chi) or Breath of Fire (DPS increase on 2+ targets)
Expel Harm (only if you need the HP or you are going to hit 100 energy and RJW is on CD
Jab (ONLY if you are going to hit 100 energy and RJW and expel harm is on CD)
tiger palm (to keep up the buff and if you have nothing else to do)

Defensive Rotation:

Keg smash
Rushing Jade wind
Blackout kick (keep up shuffle as much as possible if melee assailants)
Purify (at around 30-40k unless you are dying really fast in which case purify as much as possible)
Elusive brew (treat this as a cooldown, 45% dodge is pretty strong)
Breath of fire (for the small disorient to help you kite/run away)

General Tips:

1. You are a scumbag tank spec. Be sure to abuse it as much as possible. Port on Z axis maps and to escape to LOS and heal up etc.
2. Despite the spec's pve role, be aware that you are squishy in pvp. You are in leather with very little passive damage reduction. Especially to casters you will drop very fast unless you play properly. Correct rotation of defensive abilities is essential to survival. you ONLY have one major defensive cooldown (fortifying brew).
3. Be smart with guard. NEVER hit 2 stacks of guard in arena, always make sure one is recharging at any time. Try to save your guard for important times when the enemy team will burst (demon soul, 8 second kidney shot, etc)
4. Watch your elusive brew. Chi brew will add more elusives and reset the duration. They don't last long and especially if you are sitting CC or running around they will drop. Being swapped on with 0 elusives is VERY bad and you could drop very fast as a result. Make sure to keep them stacked at 15 if you are not being targetted and try not to let them drop. At the very least make sure to use them if they will drop and nothing can be done.
5. Make good use of purify. Especially when being trained, if you are purging the excess 20% damage as soon as it comes in it will make life a lot easier for you/your healer to deal with.
6. Purify glyph in AMAZING in 2s. When most teams will consist of rogues/hunters/ferals/DK that 4% heal every 8 seconds really adds up. With double stamina trinkets I have about 450k HP unbuffed. That's about 20k heal every 8 seconds and it's very important you use this on cooldown when being trained in 2s.

i'll be making a full guide soon, but these general tips should help you out. If there's anything you need help with feel free to PM me

this is exactly why i switched to rdruids. even when disc is complete dogshit and easily bottom 2 healer we're still considered OP.

I'm not claiming anything about the total healing capabilities of Disc Priest. My only point has been that Disc Priests are insanely hard to kill. However, it seems this goes for all healers at the moment, perhaps besides Resto Shammy.
