Btw just remember that crit is now only 150% against players, and multistrike is also different in PvP. In PvP you only get 1 chance for 30% damage, instead of the 2 in PvE.

the only hunter i approve of is dillypoo. the remainder of hunters' existence offends me to my core. when i wake up, i am troubled that in some parts of the world, there are other humans who still partake in slavery, sex trafficking, and hunter playing on world of warcraft

Btw just remember that crit is now only 150% against players, and multistrike is also different in PvP. In PvP you only get 1 chance for 30% damage, instead of the 2 in PvE.

im guessing it would be like
crit(not sure)>haste>versa>multistrike>mastery but i think it can vary about what comp you play for example if u play thugcleave mastery is probably godly in that case.some1 needs to do some testing

Nvm, tested it. It actually is only one roll in pvp which is totally retarded for classes that rely on this stat. WW Monks for example have a 25% multistrike buff which is massively nerfed due to this.

Yeah it's somewhat hard to tell exactly what's the best. Crit is definitely really good, versatility is pretty decent, but haste/multi/mastery not sure.

Actually, Multistrike only gets one roll, however the chance is doubled, so 15% multistrike is actually 30% in pvp.

Except it doesn't work like that currently and the tweets are from march. Again multistrike in PvP makes sense right now, it has exactly the same value as crit does given 150% crits. It's safe to assume that halving the proc chance for PvP is intended because it's just another burst stat that gives huge variation to a single spells damage (a normal hit compared to a crit with a multistrike crit etc).

I'd really like to know what's happening behind the scenes here. Crit and MS effects are diminished in PvP--but is their chance doubled? If not, why would anyone ever choose to use them?

I was under the impression that MS had double the chance and crit just got screwed, but I don't know if that's right.

I just tested it on my lock buddy for a good 10 Minutes, seems like multistrike just procs once at displayed sheet chance in pvp. No idea why since this nerfs classes that rely on it. Multistrike rolling only once is good but it should have the doubled chance in pvp

I'm thinking haste > mastery > multistrike > versa for survival. Not sure, obv. But that's my first impression.

It could be that in PvE, if your sheet shows 10%, you have two 5% chances, then in PvP it's just one 10% chance, no? I thought that's how it worked.

Doesn't seem like it, if it were that way you would have roughly the same amount of multistrikes if given lets say....5 or 10 minutes of testing. However when i went to the training dummy the percentage of multistrikes to non-multistrikes nearly doubled compared to hitting a player. The Multistrike chance in the character sheet seems true for PvE and PvP. 2 rolls for PvE, 1 for PvP

I think they want versatility and crit to be the best, although it's confusing reading the tooltips

edit: i don't think multistrike is much different from the old mm mastery anyway

not a lot of times i was thankful for that

You only have a chance to proc 1 multistrike, but your chance is doubled. So if you have 5% multi, you will effectively proc a multi 10% of the time. I think they did this to make the stat mathematically the same, value wise, but to take away some of its burst and scaling potential.

incorrect :( it's how it used to work in a previous beta build

atm:

I actually made an appearance at DH2014 and I met up with people from twitch who were involved with the dota 2 / cs tournies that where there, I talked about the game from my perspective as a professional player and we actually shared a lot of opinions. All I'm saying is a lot of people will be VERY surprised about the future of this game in the esport world :)

the previous version meant multistrike capped at 50% in pvp - mages atm can get to 53% multistrike just from armor + icy veins, so damaging a pvp target with that would give 1 multistrike on every hit, but it doesnt

korzul also said the exact same thing two days ago, reading up

You get more Multi per point of rating than Crit, and by a lot...
When you run the basic numbers its like per 1000 rating you get 9.8% crit and 15% multi
Which means if you are a multi specific class, multi is still better in pvp....
And that surv gets 36% modifier, not 30%.
Multi > Crit > Mastery > Haste for Surv
