My b, crit/mastery is better than haste mastery because crit is better for pure dps than haste.

no, they just changed it so crit gives a multistrike chance. I don't full understand it either tbh, all I know is crit=weak multistrike. They haven't posted exactly how it works iirc

Unless something weird is going on, this is how I understand it works, every time an ability multistrike's, it has a chance to crit just like any normal ability.

(PVP values for all classes)

Base ability : 100% damage
Crit : 150% damage
MS : 30% damage
MS (crit) : 45% damage [30*1.5]

(PVP values for elemental shamans)

Base ability : 100% damage
Crit : 150% damage
MS : 40.5% damage [30*1.35]
MS (crit) : 60.75% damage [30*1.5*1.35]

*Elemental Overload makes MS (and their crits) do 35% more damage*

If you have 10% chance to crit, 10% of your multistrikes will crit. Whether the base ability crits or not is irrelevant.

You just only get 1 roll to multistrike in PvP instead of 2. Other than that, it works the same for every class and there is no secret mechanic behind it.

lets invent a new stat for elemental shamans called "lolele" - your lava burst has an x% chance to deliver an extra attack for 30% damage

exactly the same as multistrike but only affects lava burst, and rolls separately to multistrike rolls

when you cast lava burst as an elemental shaman, your crit % becomes your lolele %, so if you have 40% multistrike and 20% crit, your lava bursts have a 40% chance to multistrike for 30% damage and a separate additional 20% chance to lolele for 30% damage

since lavaburst always crits, it will do either 200% damage, or 260% damage, or 320% damage, depending on how lucky you get with multistrike and lolele procs

Edit, just realised the 260% and 320% are wrong because of elemental overload, but you get the idea

honestly i gotta bench my ele, sitting 1 hour + in group finder for one comp is too much. get decent groups but its not stable as they play in other comps. I am at 1500 right now, been a real grind, finding aff lock and resto druid. i posted earlier that I am an average player 2k in rbg and 1900 in arena, I cant really progress with so much downtime.

Can someone talk me through the basic LSD playstyle as an Ele? I'm maining lock and this is my first season of actually giving arenas a serious go, so I still have a lot to learn but I thought an Ele alt would be fun.

So you are spreading flameshocks to all targets, firing procs onto a kill target, making sure your druid doesn't get CCed via shear/tremor/grounding? When and how much are you purging a target? Can you give me anymore information especially regarding setting up CC for a kill or any other important tactics? Completely new to this and trying to learn, thanks!

your job is to keep yourself and your healer out of cc learn how to position, stop deep sheep, communicate with healer about when he needs you to stop cc, and learn to ground. Your lock and you can just spam damage until the other team rots.

How often do you purge? Watching Zeepeye's stream and he doesn't seem to purge a lot? Specifically watching him play a disc priest who was sub 25% and no purges even though shields are up?

i purge a lot. Purging is very powerful in the meta game and I think zeepeye sometimes doesn't purge important shit, but if you can break the shield it's better to break it quick than purge it if you are low mana (this isn't really achievable atm)

similar to demo lsd yes, you set up damage and kill in stuns, affli lsd its not similar.

I'm still confused about the statistic priority and why Mastery is better than Haste? As far as I was aware Multistrike is our best statistic and then follows Haste and Crit (or the other way around, they're close) and then Mastery. So what's the deal with Mastery? I just don't see it as being that strong.

Also, with that priority you suggested some of the gear taken for example, is the helmet which gives Haste/Mastery instead of Multistrike/Mastery. Wouldn't the Multistrike/Mastery one be better instead of Haste/Mastery which you said Haste is so devalued?

What do you think about going full crit gear with haste?
With full gear in pvp environment its about 30% crit unbuffed.
Sure its less multistrike (about 30%) but isn´t crit counted as "multistrike" for LB, too?
And crit overall buffs my LB, offheals and of course EF...
What do you people think about it?
