people saying ret will be shit but what about final verdict, its 280% weapon damage as holy in wod, stormblast is 180% wd in wod and that equalls 380% in mop so rets might end up beeing what enhancement shamans are now without the need of a 3 minute cooldown to random oneshot someone on range, holy avenger+wings+glyphed freedom+clemency seems slightly op to me ..

Imho final verdict is not that great, pure holy damage TV will be useful only against plate-wearers because doing pure magical damage on low armored targets like clothies/leather/mail is useless, you'll do similar damage to them with the regular physical version of TV.

Seals dancing with empowered seals seems to be far more interesting and versatile. During offensive play the 15% ap buff from judgment of truth will be useful for damage and during defensive play the "second wind" effect from judgment of Insight will be useful to survive.

If they stick to the old "ret only does damage during CDs" design, It'll be fine.

If they introduce a new "ret can do good damage outside of CDs" design, yes it'll be op.

But as I said we need to play beta before drawing any conclusions.

I hope parry/dodge chance won't end up being as absurd. It's honestly not the fact that plate makes a difference it's that they have too much parry.

Molten armor from mages, shadow form, lightning shield, boomkin armor etc etc is all a good as plate or in most cases better honestly. It's the 30%+ avoidance that makes it quite annoying for a Ret to try and kill a dk/war. To actually have a shot at slaying them as it stands I have to take sanctified wrath and hope hunter crits them hard :)

Final Verdict is awesome :) .
You have to use it with divine purpose, and you'll beat the fuck out of everyting, trust me :) .

And don't forget, the more damage our TV does, the more damage our Mastery will do.
On lvl92 with BoM you'll have ~42% Mastery, quite ok for ilvl 510.

But i'm more interestet how versality and multistrike will impact in pvp.

But you mave have to use every opportunity to heal in PvP. Same as in classic and TBC.

Can this be a hotfix for MoP instead? Awesome 2PC bonus though, that + Final Verdict is making Ret look pretty good.

Not a huge fan of RNG with divine purpose and HA increase our HoPo generation and HoPo generating abilities damage by 30% which is huge especially for HoW.

Ok, i'm more a fan of, but not totally.
I like DP because it makes me act more flexible. I'm ok with my HoPo generation, even since i go on Crit>Haste>Mastery.

Final Verdict+DP Procc is even on the live server amazing, but you need the Proccs. They aren't rare ;) .
Killed many Allies with 5-6 Proccs (Only TV and krit), heal alot and got the 9% damagebuff most times up.


Yes, i play Alpha, but the server are down. Maybe they are up on tuesday

A little question, is it possible to stack judgment of truth buff with judgment of insight buff when playing with the empowered seals talent ?

I could'nt test them, because the are disabled. Maxlevel is actually 92. There was a time (lol^^), where you could use the lvl100 Talents at 92. I only saw that on a german Ret (Stream) - the hit were pretty hard! :) .

As far as i remember a tweet from celestalon (oder CM_Lore?), it should be possible.
I will test it, if possible. The Alliance startarea should be available in 1-2 days, so it should'nt be able to (as actually) test the lvl100 talents, though.

I also watched some alpha streams and noticed a "glyph of blind", I hope It's something that makes fear/repent instant. Would be great to have more infos about this glyph.

WTB more info about Alpha Ret everyhing.

Mostly if everything is working as the tooltip says or there is some tricks into it. And when Arenas are up, how does it feel with way less CC arround.

I'm expecting much more pressure with HoW on 35% life, and QoL with no Inquisition, plus mobility with Emp Seals Justice. Also a lot more survivability with Emp Seals Insight and Sacrifice on 90s CD, not to mention the CC reduction with Glyph of Free and PVP Piece Bonus.

I think Ret will be something between DK and Enhancement in WoD. We should be able to customize way better, also. Some serious burst like you said, but being able to choose a decent sustained gameplay with Emp Seals. Much more mobile and with less control on the game, our support/healing/burst should become what it suposed to be since MoP day 1.

Watched vanguards playing alpha, pvp is in a pretty bad state, not because of gameplay but because of stats.

Vanguards was hitting like a wet noodle with his 660ilvl pvp geared ret, he was doing 15k crits max on pvp opponents with 250k hp pool, heals are way too strong and damage is way too low.

Imho they should make heals very expensive and heal for less, then fights would be longer but not bursty so everyone would be happy.

The PvP is actually pretty good on alpha atm, but Versatility is bugged and absorbs are bugged.
