Hey, I am new to WoW(created acc 1 week ago) and playing on EU Kazzak Horde atm, playing Rogue and only Rogue. Currently at 536 item lvl and going for full 550. In 2x2 I am currently about 1400 if playing with similar geared partner.

So all the major things like talents, glyphs, specs, items, openers I already know and have no issues with those. I noticed there are many bugged things in WoW on Rogues, like auras preventing using some skill or another, but there is a way to fix them with macro.

I know a good character is made up of every little small detail, I do not want to miss any of those. Could you please help me list all the important tips and tricks regarding skill macro's and fixes for any possible current problem? (like aura bug). And maybe some useful macro's for Rogue.
Any additional big and small tips and tricks that could possibly maximize my Rogue efficiency are welcome <3

Here is the list of some of my macro's so far:

1-
/cancelaura Stealth
/cancelaura Subterfuge
/cast Vanish

2-

#showtooltip Rupture
/cast Rupture
/cancelaura Vanish

/cancelaura Subterfuge
/cast Shadow Dance
/cast Grievous Gladiator's Leather Gloves

3-

/cast Grievous Gladiator's Leather Gloves

5-

/cast Premeditation
/cast Slice and Dice

Some of them are rly just for the tooltip purpose, some are saving keybinds. Rest of them are quality of life macros or w.e.

What're you trying to accomplish with macro #2

if you already have a bleed on the target you plan to dance on then clearing your combo points is a terrible idea since you can use them on eviscerate the first global after cheap shot.

if you want a list of useful macros you can find them on plenty of popular rogue streams under their FAQ's

My macros are:

#showtooltip vanish
/cancelaura hand of protection
/cancelaura subterfuge
/cast vanish
--For when playing with a paladin and he casts hand of protection on you.   Reason for adding that is when you are under the effects of hand of protection you cannot stealth/vanish.

#showtooltip tricks of the trade
/target (Partner's name)
/cast tricks of the trade
/targetlasttarget
--Pretty simple tricks macro.   I like it because if i forget to add my partners name, it will give me the option to mouseover and click who i want it to be on.

#showtooltip Shadow Blades
/use 10
/cast shadow blades
-- Not many new rogues know that using your engineering gloves wont pull you out of stealth.  You can use your gloves with shadowblades to get the most of your opener (bonus combo on cheapshot/garrote)

#showtooltip 13
/cancelaura subterfuge
/use 13
/cast shadow dance
--  Typical Shadowdance burst macro,  I play human mostly so the /use 13 is there to pop my on use macro.  If you play anything other than human i would use:

#showtooltip Shadow Dance
/cancelaura subterfuge
/use 10
/cast shadow dance

#showtooltip
/castsequence [target=focus] reset=20 Shadowstep, Kick
--  Have to hit it twice to have it work, but its the most reliable shs kick macro I've used.

#showtooltip
/cast [@focus] Kick
-- for when you dont need to use SHS to kick casts

#showtooltip Sap
/cast [@focus] Sap

#showtooltip Blind
/cast [@focus] Blind

#showtooltip Dismantle
/cast [@focus] Dismantle

#showtooltip Gouge
/cast [@focus] Gouge

#showtooltip
/castsequence [@focus] reset=20 Redirect, Kidney Shot
--Have to hit twice but most reliable Redirect>kidney macro I've used

-- In order for these to be successful, in my opinion, you should get used to using target/focus setting macros.  It allows you to keep autoattacking your target and if you aren't clicking your targets you can be more fluid with your movement.  Some players are very successful with clicking gladius so its really up to your personal preference

#showtooltip Smoke Bomb
/tar arena1

#showtooltip Smoke Bomb
/tar arena2

#showtooltip Smoke Bomb
/tar arena3

#showtooltip Shadow Dance
/focus arena1

#showtooltip Shadow Dance
/focus arena2

#showtooltip Shadow Dance
/focus arena3

-- These are the targeting macros i was talking about..  If you are an overachiever and have no issues with keybinds you can add in arena4 and arena5 into that list for when you queue 5's.

I've met a lot of players who talk about castsequence macros for burst.   I can't stress enough how terrible that is.  If you have any latency issues or get knocked back or CC'd at all during it you will be SOL when it comes to continuing burst when you reconnect.

Hey man, thanks for your macro list, I am going to go through it carefully.

To answer your question:
2-

#showtooltip Rupture
/cast Rupture
/cancelaura Vanish
/cancelaura Stealth
/cancelaura Subterfuge
/cast Shadow Dance
/cast Grievous Gladiator's Leather Gloves

I use this when I open and aim to kill a target who is not bleeded. For example if I play Hunt+Rogue and we CC 1 healer and kill the DD, I use macro fro pre-slice and then this macro, it gives rupture, turns all auras off and casts shadow dance with gloves buff. I open with rapture and I do not want to use hemo major glyph. In case there is a target that is already bleeded I have another keybind for normal Rupture without macro.

I think it saves a lot of time, this is not a burst macro, but gives rupture and dance/gloves really fast. So far this is my fav macro, works perfect.

Another question, I saw some people are using Minor glyph of hemorrhage. What benefits are they getting?

It only bleeds when another bleed is on, should be a negative point. To damage without putting any bleed on, I don't see any possible scenario of this :D

Say, for example, you're DPSing a target and want to switch, but your partner has to CC the target your're DPSing when you switch. A hunter, for example, can't trap with a bleed. A mage with the glyph can poly, same for a rogue's glyphed blind. I've always seen people do that with that glyph, but I can't say for sure that's why they're using it (I've only ever asked a friend of mine who's sitting around 2200, so he kind of gives me half ass answer and doesn't understand why some rogues do what they do).
I'm still learning. ^_^

Often you'll be on a target not to damage it, but to disrupt/peel it (particularly casters). Ideally you had Redirect +5cps prior to going on that target, but if you didn't you'll have to build CPs. Quite often the most convenient & efficient way of doing this outside of Find Weakness is spamming Hemorrhage (since the damage loss of not using Backstab is barely relevant). If hemorrhage applies a bleed in such a scenario, it gets in the way of not just your Gouge, but potentially your teamates' CC as well. It is a very long duration bleed which, aside from potential Honor Among Thieves procs, doesn't really do much if you're not bursting the target or looking to bleed up another Rogue.

It can also give you more breathing room if you want to replace Blind glyph with something more relevant to a specific Arena matchup. For now use Blind glyph either way, though :P

Thx, got it.

I have to work on my swaps now and learn to properly CC one target while killing another.
