Why doesn't this problem exist in Europe? Nearly double the amount of 2.2 players, and 2.5k Rated RBG's on EU, but Bailamos is 2.3, which is nearly 200 below his supposed biggest Rival, and only half the amount of 2.2 players?

(Same amount in the total pool, around 70k)

Looks to me like bailamos can gain nearly 200 rating, from what appears to be 2 teams above his, Why don't you just Q into them?

The problem still exists on EU. Don't be so naive. Most of the EU RBG teams gained their rating before the MMR change, and even before then, a glass ceiling around 2100 or so still existed. It's broken and needs fixing.

this is the issue, nobody gets points and holinka gives no cents

I understand it needs fixing, but the contrast to how it works on EU just seems odd. Especially since people keep mentioning this 2.1 MMR cap, when there are players with anything between 30 - 50 games, who are 2.3 - 2.4

They would have to be getting an average of 80 points a game, and something in the range of 30-40 Around 2,1, I don't see how thats possible, with this mmr cap?

http://eu.battle.net...sonbrie/pvp#bgs
http://eu.battle.net...akemilk/pvp#bgs

Just seems like there is no easy fix aslong as people continue not to care about RBG's, when such a small pool of players q, and at that it's generally just groups of high rated Arena players getting a high cap in the first week, then qing once a week, at the top, it's very hard to get an mmr system that works of constant qing. There is so much soaked mmr at the top of the ladder.

Even with all of this too, the top teams continue to exploit the buggy old Battlegrounds, with new tactics and ideas. Speed capping, escaping from the starting arena, bugging Ress' etc all lead to apathy from people who might q, and means these few high mmr teams crush anything that even touches the 'mmr cap'

It seems you don't even play RBGs, so don't act like there isn't an issue. How about you queue some, win +0 for 19 games and then lose -21. And the aforementioned players who are at 2.3-2.4 cr gained this cr before the MMR "hot fix". Never the less, there needs to be some serious inflation and fixing to amend the MMR of RBGs.

Edit: Not every high team abuses speed tricks, for instance mine doesn't.

    1. Yes, i don't regularly play RBG's. The one time i ever played them with skype was before i had a 1750 Achi in arena.
I Reached 1980 rating or something, playing with some pretty sub par players, and thats put kindly. Our mmr was around 2k. So i do not have the highrated Exp RBGers have,

My apathy for the bracket came when we where speedcapped, around 3 games in a row, by a 2.4k mmr team. Not to mention, i, and many others, find it a boring bracket which plays more on luck, Rez timers and spawns, than any kind of skill and coordination. Take a team of Gladiators who have 0 Synergy and have never met before, and you will no doubt have a 2.2+ RBG team.

    2. I didn't say there isn't an issue. Infact i said 'I understand it needs fixing' But the fix isn't in the mmr system. It's flawed, but not in principle, in practice; No one is qing or playing RBG's. Especially at high mmr. If RBG's proved more popular, and more teams q'd, we would see the same effect the new system had on 3v3. A boom in ratings and mmr.

Because of how little the PvP scene cares about RBG's, it would need a different mmr system, or some serious rewards / requirements to make it any kind of competitive bracket.

    3. Yes, not every team does, and i'll believe you that you don't. However you will acknowledge the majority do? Hell, i only know about all these RBG exploits from playing 5's with you and Brylie, and hearing you two talk about them. If i remember rightly, you said his team exploited them, too. So you can probably see why that would create apathy in the scene.

Overall, RBG's need a new system, or we need to be forced (god forbid) to play them regularly, to create anykind of working mmr system that rewards those teams who excel with higher ratings. 2v2 has the exact same problem, r1 being 2300.

People only do rbgs at the start of the season to raise their caps, then participation drops.  After that they queue them to gear alts, try to get achieves most people already have from previous seasons, do carries, random fun, or to get 1 point per win and -20 points and MMR per loss.

Rbgs have a lot of competitive potential but no one cares if they can't get above 2k rating, then lose 14 points to a 2400 rated team, while the 2400 rated team loses a month's worth of MMR if they lose once.  Yeah, it would honestly be better if the top team was 2700 and achieves like 2.2k-2.4k were possible for the top 1% of players.  Even people who "don't like rbgs" can admit that a 10v10 bracket with objectives has enormous competitive potential which currently is neglected.  The reasons rbgs suck are being stated here, so to say that they suck is being redundant and only supplements the arguments.  Rbgs could be more competitive than arena, and they're often more balanced than arena especially if you've played classes like DK or monk throughout MoP, but the achieves aren't within reach of good players.  And even if they are titles likes Hero are laughable, not even close to glad, and most people have them already from wintrade seasons and all sorts of nonsense.

This was an indirect issue with the mmr inflation being removed/not setup with the new seasons and bottlenecking at 2.1-2.2 and if you loose 1 game you go minus 150 or so mmr

Don't normally agree with this guy but I think every one who RBG's knows that rating/mmr has been broken this entire expansion. The only time RBG players could get high rating was when every one was win trading and you could que into them.

Doubt Holinka will fix it since I think he passed it up to Developers like 5 times so far and it still sucks
