Another practical application for this site is identifying players who exploit or game the mmr system:

How did vigaboy exploit anything? He played with low mmr alts, he didn't break any rules, he q'd like any other player, and risked losing alot for a loss.

I'd give this guy as a better example.

I agree he didn't break any rules.  Personally, I would consider it "gaming the system", since he obviously took special care to make sure his mmr was much lower than his cr so he could play against easier opponents instead of the correct calibur opponents he should be playing against.  In order to keep his mmr that low his teammates must've tanked rating in between games, otherwise how could he win so many games in a row without being matched against tougher opponents?

I'm curious if Blizzard now agrees that it's a form of exploiting.  Would the most recent mmr hotfix address this issue?  ie.  2500 player queues up with 1800 teammates, mmr averages to ~2000.  After a win, since the mmr is so much lower than 2500 CR, that player receives no points?  Is that how the new changes work?
