Hi. Iam currently lvling a warlock and aim to pvp with her. Iam lvling with destruction and enjoy pvping with it. I checked the ladder and it seems every warlock is afflication, is this true? Is afflication just so much better then the other 2 specs?

As others have said, it works in the right comp.

WW Monk/Destro Lock/RSham or RDruid is a decent comp now, and I expect it to be retarded next patch due to scaling. Both classes have the best executes in the game, and both classes can get you to execute range in a global.

Monks are also very good at locking down multiple targets, so it's fairly easy to cast.

It's actually a decent comp this season, but nobody runs it.

I mean havoc / coil / spell lock / chaos bolt is pretty good. No not as a rotation just that you can do stuff like this with havoc. Havoc really makes destruction a lot of fun to play, but yeah destruction is just fine i think, its just that more people prefer affliction.

I play destruction and affliction and find them both enjoyable. Each has it's advantages and disadvantages however. I originally started out (in mists) playing destruction and avoided affliction like the plague (honestly, no pun intended). After a while I got bored with destruction and decided to try the other specs:

Demo has always been a little clunky, but awesome if you play it right. I found this to be overly true the past couple of patches. It's really tough to play demo in arenas and actually climb in rank.

Affliction: Had a hard time picking this up at first as I was unaccustomed to the soul swap mechanic (hadn't played affliction since wrath). After reading up on it and determining stats to stack, I found it to be really fun to play, not really as a full replacement for destro (for me), but definitely a good spec addition. In fact, I do find myself playing affliction more and more.

I don't want to write any more of a wall-of-text, so to answer your question; Yes, destro is viable in the right comp, however I find affliction to be the better choice in arenas. In BG's, destruction is usually more fun to play, but both specs have viability.

destro + mage + X is good!

destro isn't even bad, just affliction better, so people prefer it :)

Destro is stressful but I find it more fun (aff is super boring). You're probably going to get trained the whole match and I swear casting chaos bolt (2.9 secs) takes years off your life with not getting cc'ed, kicked, spell reflected, grounded, sheared, deter'ed, melded, or they just run out of LoS. It is fun when you get a 5 second window with the right procs that you can end a match.

Thugonomics played it at 2k5+ mmr so it's definitely rank one viable :

If you want to see some high rated 3s gameplay as destro, thugonomics stream might interest you :

This is what I have been wondering. But I need more experience with affliction, cause I don't want to start arenas with no experience in affliction. I need to find other with a learning mentality, to grind out arenas with.

Destro is a solid spec but it just takes a bit more effort and coordination to get dmg out. Destro isn't for you if u can't handle getting trained or cc/silenced to death.

For destru to be viable you need to play a comp where you can find the windows to cast your Chaos Bolts, which basically means that you have to play with classes with good lockdown abilities. This means that you only have a limited amount of comps to play, but destru MLS/MLD or destru/ww will all be really scary to face. Unfortunately, due to the nature of resilience in MoP, you will have a really hard time until you get your hands on the Prideful weapons, as you will not hit all that hard before that.

When playing destru, like mentioned in posts above, you have to be prepared to be locked down pretty much all game. Everyone knows how scary Chaos Bolts are, and they will often do everything to prevent you from getting a single one off. Due to this, playing destru requires a lot of patience, and if you are not a patient person, I would suggest another class or you might end up throwing your computer out through the window ;)

I wouldn't call destro a solid spec. Any destro lock comp is basically going to rely on your opponents making mistakes to win the game.

Basically this,

I feel like people make a huge deal about getting chaos bolts off but I find most of the time you are hoping damage drops someone low enough for a shadowburn to squeak through.
