Alright the title says it all, please keep things positive and don't rage/emo/complain b/c I'm too old to deal with it.  I currently have access to a 90 mage, lock, hunter, and balance druid.  I don't enjoy healing and I miss the feeling out "outplaying" someone to land a kill.  All of the classes I mentioned I don't really "feel" like I need to play well or coordinate anything particularly well to land a kill.  Example:

Mage - I open up popping CDs/trinket + orb and wait for procs.  Next I roll my face on alter time button and spam instants for 10 sec till something dies.  If I win I feel it was the procs and not a lot of skill involved.

Lock - If I win as destro I feel like someone was retarded for letting me get 2xCB casts off, if I win as afflic I feel like I was putting out a multi-dot pve rotation and my partner killed something.

tl;dr - I'm looking for a challenging/skillful dps class, any recommendations?

You operate under the assumption that:

1.  I haven't played other accounts

2.  I haven't left glad level teams

Careful now, you know what they say about assumptions, they make an ass out of u and me.

Edit:  I don't find helmet counts impressive.  This might surprise you but I'll value a general "junkies" opinion just as much as yours.

69-51 (58%) - 1871 Rating - inb4 played with friends.

Your 2 examples about a mage / lock are absolutely idiotic and makes me think it's not a problem with a "skillful" dps class, but a skillful player.

I played with guild mates, I'm definitely pretty rusty and not enjoying the class as much as I used to.  I am definitely not playing the class to it's max capability, nor am I interested in doing so.  I ran afflic lock + frost dk + hpal.  My dk friend does not like unholy.  Let me ask you this, if he got on his warrior and I found a trade chat rsham, how do you think we would do?  2k?  2.2k?  2.4k?  Enough about me, I just wanted to fill you in since you were curious.

About you - does it hurt your feelings that I do not enjoy or appreciate the fine intricacies of a hunter?  Does it bother you that I do not take my ratings/win%/titles seriously?

OT:  Anyone recommend a dps class to try where I'll feel some sort of satisfaction from outplaying opponents?

probably about 2k if the trade chat shaman was randomly above average

you appear to have a horrible attitude to the game in general tho so i wouldnt count on the 2k rating tho

Feel free to call me an idiot because I'm a hunter or some stupid ass remark but I've actually written all this down on paper and have looked at the numbers comparatively for almost every class

I actually made an appearance at DH2014 and I met up with people from twitch who were involved with the dota 2 / cs tournies that where there, I talked about the game from my perspective as a professional player and we actually shared a lot of opinions. All I'm saying is a lot of people will be VERY surprised about the future of this game in the esport world :)

All of those classes you need play well and coordinate things well to land a kill at decent ratings. Satisfaction should come from outplaying. The fact that you don't feel like you need to play well or coordinate is merely a reflection on yourself and lack of synergy with partners at dog ratings. If you think that you need to play some sort of weaker class to get satisfaction off wins then by all means get a shadow-priest.

I have to be honest and say that I agree with you here.  The difference between myself and most of the people on these forums spewing negativity towards the game is that I'm trying to do something or find somone (i.e. class change) to rekindle that spark.

It's kind of like a bad relationship with a girlfriend and you both decide to bring someone else into the bedroom to "spice" things up.

I'll give that a shot, dusting off my spriest tonight.

I think we still disagree on the coordination/synergy/skill required to achieve decent ratings as certain comps/classes.  Here's what I'm going to do to try to if I can find the time and willing bodies.  I'm going to look for an rsham and war and talk them into running skype-less 3s.  How high do you think we could get?  What would you consider decent ratings?

really need to outplay people to land a kill as rogue nowadays if you're playing rps/thug cleave high lv PvP (not RMP), i enjoy rogue vs rogue a lot, maybe you should look into that.

You'll find out that most of the time even you play classes that can do sick stuff, those will often not result in a win, as it used to be. I.e rogue getting blind deathed, jk tricks + dance + mage = dead during a blanket.
There are other things you can do better this expansion, it's just different than what it used to be.
And if you play with guildies, randoms, friends, people who play dog specs etc, no matter what "skill" class u play, they will drag you down.

There is room for improvement on the classes you mentioned, obviously depending on what comp you play.
Good luck.

The nerd is high in you. If you want to contribute just say "not hunter" and move on.

Every class is easy to do damage with, some are even way too easy. It's all dependant on what class/spec is the hardest to survive with.

I guess rogue is quite "skillful", but it aint rocket science either.
You can take any class atm and roll it to 2.5k+ if you have good awareness, positioning and synergy with two others.

If you want to play hard spec, pick shadow
