Dampening Doesnt Effect Necrotic

TCCY gone and Dampening implimented with realm restarts Oct 21 hotfix.

Dampening, unlike the introduction to it 2 weeks ago, now does not affect Necro. Thoughts on this? Is it huge is it tiny (keep in mind dampening kicks in at the 10 min mark, not 15-20)

Can't recall a single of my 3vs3 games lasting that long vs. a DK team tbh.

Most shouldnt your right. Some will, and most 2's games will. and before anyone says lol 2's come on, a vast majority of players still play/prefer 2's, and more importantly you can't help but feel these mechanics changes like TCCY and Dampening are designed specificlly for that bracket.

Not even 2vs2 games will go on that long usually vs dk, anyway to answer your question it will make necrotic just as powerful as it will other peoples dmg instead of gimping it as was originally intended. Both dmg and necrotic thrive as much under this debuff

If you know how to play offensively rather than turtle all game, and if you know how to land kills, it's still alright.

Most teams will probably just wait for the healing debuff before hitting you though.

If you want to play blood, a better bet would be blood/sub rogue.

Not really true because as you said Necrotic is a debuff, not just instant damage.
Since the way to remove this debuff is through healing, as healing goes down Necrotic's uptime will go up. This means enemies will not only have an healing absorb debuff on them for longer periods, but also the casting speed debuff that comes with it.
This will be as if Mortal Strike's debuff's uptime would increase as Dampening goes down...
I'm not saying Necrotic should be affected as much as healing by Dampening, but something like 50-75% of it's effect would be necessary to put it in line with other abilities, otherwise Necrotic's pressure will scale with Dampening much better than other spells.

This is the only part of your post that I agree with.

They should simply split the casting speed reduc and healing absorb into seperate abilities to avoid this kind of stuff.

Im feeling the same way. The pressure necro is going to casue with the dampening debjuff stacking up is going to come from the longer application of casting debuff. It may also mean that we get to take advantage of the debuff a bit quicker then others becasue itll take longer to get rid of existing necros in the early stages of dampening since it will take longer to hel them off. Not much but its somethign I think.

First game of 2s today was against a restoshaman/unholy DK. After about 15-16 minutes dampening was at 40% and my holy shocks were healing for 15k with 20k flash of lights, while necros were still stacking up to 200-300k. Ended up leaving because as absurd as necrotics are with dampening you can still heal through it, though I imagine it will be impossible for other healers.

If dampening stacks to more than 30% and an Unholy DK blows his load into something and doesnt get instantly peeled and DOESNT land a kill i'm going to be so dissappointed in this sytem:(

Why dont you wait and see how it goes. Everyone said DKs and TSG would be insane this season guess what... they are pretty bad.

The way i see it is if a healer has 100k health left with dampening at 40% with a warrior doing 50k damage and a healer is healing it for 20k that is about 3 seconds they can live if damage and healing is constant. Now if a dk is doing 7k necro + 40k absorb + 7k dots he still has to do 7 seconds of necro stacking to let the damage go to 100k. So the healer is living for 4 more seconds compared to a warrior.

And what healer casts now lol.
