Hey just looking for a little help optimizing my pet.  Seems like its better to keep things separate and not macro in petattack to your normal attacks.  I've seen alot of leap, gnaw macros but they don't seem to work for me.  Not sure if anything has changed or if those macros are meant to be spammed.  Also how do you deal with Claw?  With autocaston sometimes it seems the GCD messes up timing with leap and gnaw.

So basically looking for a rundown of macros, including focus macros and general rotation to make pet use as seamless as possible.

Thanks

for leaping i use
/cast [@target] leap

/cast [@focus] leap

and for gnawing i use
/cast [@target] gnaw

/cast [@focus] gnaw

however i used to play with claw binded to scroll, which was good since you would always have energy for a stun, and you can also pool energy for x3 claw in a row, however if can be quite annoying for the ppl that you play with hearing scrolls all the time, and with 5.4 the gnaw and leap is gonna go off petGCD and it won't cost energy so your problem is solved with 5.4

for next season you can use leap+gnaw in one macro if you dont feel like doing it seperate hence the changes to the dk pet and the energy costs.

i dont have the macro to disable claw anymore tho
swe ofc ^^

My macros related to my pet, with these I never have trouble getting my pet stun or pet leap off:

Festering Strike turns off Pet Auto-Cast Claw:

#showtooltip Festering Strike
/startattack
/cast Festering Strike
/petattack
/petautocastoff claw

Necrotic Strike turns it on:

#showtooltip Necrotic Strike
/startattack
/cast Necrotic Strike
/petattack
/petautocaston claw

I have Plague Strike showing the CD of AMS, this turns on claw as well:

#showtooltip Anti-Magic Shell
/startattack
/cast Plague Strike
/petattack
/petautocaston claw

Gnaw for my current target:

#showtooltip Gnaw
/petautocastoff claw
/cast Gnaw

Gnaw for my Focus target:

#showtooltip Gnaw
/petautocastoff claw
/cast [target=focus] Gnaw

Leap for my current target:

#showtooltip Leap
/petautocastoff claw
/cast Leap

Leap for my focus target:

#showtooltip Leap
/petautocastoff claw
/cast [target=focus] Leap

I have a separate macro that I simply press in order to pull back my pet, this displays the cooldown of my Death Pact:

#showtooltip Death Pact
/petfollow

And my pet defensive, this allows my pet to huddle when I heal it, because if I'm wasting the GCD in order to heal that bastard, it obviously needs damage reduction, this displays the Cooldown of Leap:

#showtooltip Leap
/cast [@pet] death coil
/cast Huddle
Please review signature rules.

no point getting used to this anymore now, your issues with gnaw and leap are gone come 5.4

What do you mean?

edit: nvm saw nehelx's post

Yubel, what's the reasoning behind having festering turning claw off and necrotic and plague strike turning it on?

Also, is there any reason to have petattack not macroed into your abilities, just trying to understand the dk a little better, thanks.

I like the idea of having pet heal and huddle together, makes sense and saves a keybind.
