people played tr because gear actually had rating req, so all the noobs wanted to have a feeling of what it would be like with full wrathful. now any retard can get full pvp gear on live so whats the point in paying 15 bucks for nothing?

this was expected i think, the budget is cut more every year. if you haven't noticed the regionals got poorer each year, this time they just didn't bother having 1

EU and US try was dead this year coz they used the murloc pet again, ppl can get all the gear on live anyways without effort, there's no pve trinkets for ppl to try so casual players who don't think they'd get top 8 anyways have no reason to pay the fee to get the arena pass

So, what I can conclude from this is that qualifying for Blizzcon is a popularity contest monopolized by only the most disgusting of nerds.

Vanguards and me will ask about that tonight.
Please ask these 4 questions:

1. Tournament realm was not mentioned, does this mean the 2 highest rated teams on EU ladders are getting invited to Blizzcon? As in, current rank 1 team on Misery (2822 rating) and rank 1 team on Cruelty (2808 rating)?

2. If the top 2 on Tournament realm get invited, why wasn't this clearly stated? Since top 2 on tournament realm does not equal "Two of the highest ranked teams" ; Why don't they hire someone with a clue to proofread these kind of announcements to avoid confusion?

3. Or is it just Blizzard's way of telling that the US and EU competitors are already decided? If this is the case, why get people's hopes up?

4. If the competitors are already decided, who is the guy behind the decisions?

"If you're an Arena competitor, it's time to hone your skills and get ready to fight hard for a spot in the event."

Think you forgot to tell the main piece of information: How to fight for a spot in the tournament, gratz Blizzard.

But Korea + China has regionals though? It can't be the reason. Or if it is, must be partly because Activision Blizzard just took a huge loan to buy themselves out of Vivendi and they actually don't have any money at the moment (China and Korea probably work on their own in some weird ass Asian way)

Or then this is some inside PR thing to have big names on the tournament to raise e-ticket sales high.

I think they're being purposefully vague so that they can invite whoever they want, so that they can then backwards-rationalise their decisions to the rest of us.

Honestly, I think you've called it. Judging by the shadiness and general vagueness of the circumstances I would not be surprised if the Blizzcon competitors had already been selected and invited.

they cannot say how or who will get invited (i.e. from arena pass) because then it's technically counted as gambling, which is why they don't call it a tournament realm anymore

gambling is illegal in some countries

That's true. As far as I know Holinka & GC are not responsible for tournaments. That's the E-Sport department with Mark Olbertz. However we will of course ask them about the qualification and the idea to host WoW online tournaments in a similar fashion to WCS with global finals.

I will add a Twitter feed to the stream and it will show any tweets @WoW_WildeHilde (excluding those filtered by Twitter for spam/language) live on the show.

Yet they tell exactly how the competitors are chosen, but only to a handful of players. This handful of players gets a huge advantage as they have more time to make preparations.

How is this morally acceptable in any way?

Not that I care, it's their company and they can do whatever they want, but I know many people who'd want to get a confirmation from WildhiLd or someone, regarding if the top 2 on TR are getting invited or not.

My guess is that TR is the only time PvP is active their since they're a bit more competitive

It's liek this TR isn't attractive for avarage ppl. If they would add some special things for each ranks. For example first 150 - pet, 100 - title, 30 - mount whatever, achievements, even fucking transmo gear etc - this doesn't affect the costs at all and would bring a lot of more people. No inv is really bad. First 8 teams from TR on event brings real winners. You can't wintrade, farm 2k teams to get ranks, ddos, use addons, everyone have same internet - ms, every one play at the same place. Everything is the same for every one and it makes the first 2 teams very special. Choosing two highest teams atm to go on Blizzcon can't be good, at least its not fair.

It feels like they want this game to follow the fate of Starship Troopers Series.
