I think that somehow shifting the armor pen from CS - to mortal strike (more consistent), then moving the reduced healing part of MS - to CS, would be a great change in the right direction, even if the %values had to be adjusted... This would be possible this late in the expansion without a extensive re-work.

Thoughts?

Good post.

The biggest concern of all is Colossus Smash. CS is a huge part of the Arms rotation and the fact that it's cut in half in pvp hurts warriors a lot. Would be interesting to see a change to the ability even if it was just a pvp focused changed(such as making the debuff last longer on players).

really good post, not sure how op it would be but say buffing cs to say 75 in pvp and maybe making it a 6 second duration or would that just be stupid during swifty?

That's the problem, the way armor works CS is not cut in half in pvp, its 4 to 6 times less effective in pvp.
If you test on boss dummies (a boss should had the same armor I guess) it's a 60% increase.
In pvp is between 10% (cloth) and 15% (plate).

Yes. Although, I didn't really mean to imply that it's effectiveness was cut in half in pvp. Just that it going from 100% armor pen to 50% is a huge difference.

Yup. I think it's really important to point that the difference is way way worse than just 50%.

the thing is alot of these buffs could be applied to fury as well and make it viable, the crit thing though i dont think they would make MS have a 100% chance to crit off charge, due to double time and jugg (12cd guaranteed enrages or back to back enrages) so it would probably be like it was in cata and be 25%, which could work just fine and they could apply it to fury as well (well maybe like a 10-12% additional crit chance for fury maybe even less since double crit chance.

Everything else though, minus the Op buff would work for fury and make both of them viable options for pvp (Because i HATE arms :) )

Awesome post Braindance you are one of the warriors that take the time to gather data and concrete facts on how and why our class is simply not wanted in most if not all situations in pvp enviroments atm that is the only reason why I have hope for the only class I have ever played on my own account to max lv since vanilla until this season few weeks ago started a alt in reaction to the constant feeling of nothing to do anymore on a warrior and probability that it wont change in 5.4 but sit in trade and wish you were another class.

Only thing I would change from your post is your Overpower suggestions to your original one:

Unrelenting assault back in the game http://www.wowwiki.c...lenting_Assault . Yes you heard me, but this time the debuff is applied only to damage and not healing. Could be implemented in the form of a separate binding that expends 4 overpower charges to reduce spell damage by 50% for 6/8 seconds

And probably reduce it's cost to 5 rage, it would help us do some damage while in DStance.

Some really good suggestions and as others said you really hit the nail.

On the cooldown matter there is a really nice solution also used in other games that can both punishing and rewarding.

Say;

When Recklessness is ready to be activated you gain a passive 10 % critical chance, this modifier is deactivated when Recklessness is on cooldown.

^--- More like this promotes smart use of cooldowns and the choice between pressure and burst.

More stuff like this would be really nice for the game tbh.

More so, make skull banner passively into recklessness it's time really, silly that you have to make a macro and always use those two together.

Slam now deals 50% more damage, but the Rage cost has been increased by 50% as well. While Sweeping Strikes is active, Slam will deal 35% of damage dealt against the primary target to all other enemies within 2 yards, and targets affected by Colossus Smash receives 10% more damage.

This is very very very bad. While it will make our damage outside cds better, it also means that during cds we will hit 210k-240k slams easy.

God help us.

It's the wrong thing to buff IMO, I'm pretty tired of being a clunky burst machine...

Even "Overpower now deals 50% more damage and the rage cost was reduced by 50% as well" would be better.
