What is the % threshold of dmg taken before fear breaks?

I know it takes a ridiculously long time with damage still being done to the feared target before it breaks, but anyone know what the actual numbers are?

i don't remember the %, but it's % of the current (not max) health

Do you know if it's a higher threshold if the damage is coming from dots? From testing it seems it's more like 15% if the damage is from dots before the fear will break.

pretty sure 10% - but only yellow attacks goes towards this threshold

Been testing it on tr and it's about 12% before it breaks. It's definitely higher than 10% even if it's just by a couple of percent. Unbuffed, been taking about 50k damage before fear breaks starting at 395k health.

There's really no reason to believe your tests over the official 10% value without some actual proof.

should just break on damage, so you actually have to think about what your doing instead. They should take away ua silence only reason they had that was so you couldnt spam cleanse dots but cleanse is a cd now.

What proof do you want.

I have no buffs, lock fears me, soulburns ua, corruption & agony on me from full health, I check what number my health is when it breaks and its always roughly 50k from max health which is 395k.

You can go and try it for yourself if you don't believe me.

In regards to the rest of the thread, doesn't the current value feel too high of a threshold for fear to break on considering its spammable, doesnt heal the target up in its duration, doesnt require a separate glyph to remove dots when you use it and  dispel has a cd?

It's a bit dodgey and requires a lot of testing to prove. Let's say the threshold equals to 50k damage, what often happens is that during the fear you slowly take ~40k damage, but then a big number hit towards the end, meaning you maybe take 100k or even 150k during the fear, resulting in the "fear never breaks"

That would be true if, for example, you have been taking dot damage consistently during the fear and then you suddenly get hit by one huge spell at the end, say lock dots for 4 secs then instant frostfire bolt at the end.

I've only been testing it with another ua lock soulburn dotting me after a fear from full health so the dmg I'm taking is small, incremental and at consistent intervals. It could be latency though, seeing the fear break on the hit after it actually broke server side idk. But from testing it this way its breaking at around 12.5%.

Regardless, with more lock buffs on ptr today (http://us.battle.net.../blog/10158897/), shouldn't the threshold be lowered by at least 5% for such a strong ability? It's just quite dumb to be in the situation of "well I've already dispelled the first fear, the second one he spammed will break on dmg, right, right, RIGHT?!?!?!?!?!?!"
