I think it only shows how many wins you have, at least that's what it looked like from the post of the new UI. The Rbg area showed 0-0 for the win/loss while under 3s it only showed 0 so I don't think it will show how many losses you have probably to prevent the ugly W/L that will happen haha

Hmm, why is MMR inflation a bad thing in a big pool of teams?

Huge difference between ratings are going to happen. Say the whole EU's 2.5k+ teams went to Outland and everyone started queuing. There'd be couple teams skyrocketing to 3.5k ratings etc, while the old teams would be staying close to same.

Awesome. I'm excited not to face the same two teams all night. I don't think the MMR inflation is relative. Remember that MMR is abritrary anyway. Whether the top .5% is 3000 or 2500 it doesn't really matter.

Potential concerns:
-Same problem with RBGs - once you're high rating, you can't play with lower rated friends. If you don't grind rating in the first few weeks and are at low CR, that will deter people from playing with you.
-W/L obsessed people are already annoying.
-This makes sells piss easy. All you have to do is have a toon on the same faction.


I'm still hoping they also add a separate random queue/ladder for 3v3 that would pair 2 DPS/1 healer and no class stacking. A rating system something like, as your personal rating rises, the people you queue with is within ~+/- 300 of your personal rating, so you get teammates close to your skill level and face opponents around your skill level as well.

Ok, getting that point. But that would only work if pretty much only these teams queue on that rating at the time? How likely is that with the current arena participation?

EVERY team will count as 3 individual players. So there will be 3 times the amount of glad spots, so the same amount of glads per BG.

Basically the '0.5% of ranked players' will be the same amount, if not more, because the people who played but are not in teams at the end of season will still be counted in this new system, whereas they aren't atm.

The best solution to avoid playing with low rating friends is to have a alt, a lot of people have two or more of their main class, its not a big deal

[/quote]One thought is players Y and Z (who are at the top of the ladder, lets say 2400) are way more likely to play with player X's brand new ele shaman at 1800 rating, because they'll be playing teams ~2200, (assuming the mmr system is exact averages) Whereas in 5.4, if we're assuming the top of the bracket is now 3200, Players Y and Z stand to lose way more points per lost game when they queue with player X, because they'll be playing against teams ~500 points below their cr instead of ~200.

so, basically, alts are required to play with other alts, unless they just have super nice friends who don't care to potentially lose a shitton of points for a few losses.

I think alts to play with friends is kind of ok. Like this it promotes competition at the top end I hope and WoW really needs competition on the ladders.

Why not just give 3 team slot / bracket and always show your highest. That way you could actually offspec, play with nubcake friends, try out retarded comps instead of worrying about your raiting. This literally changes nothing, other than the fact, that you dont have to come up with team names anymore.

I dont get how could it promote playing with more friends other than it being cross realm

What's the big deal if they show win loss or not?  Will some of you really let that stop you from playing with friends or fucking around?  It's just a record. Your skill level isn't suddenly shit because you played with some friends who s key and don't have half their spells bound and you lost more games than you won.  And if the people you want to play with care about your win loss ratio, you really shouldn't be playing with them.

This change is going to absolutely obliterate RBG competition because of the ease at which wintraders can exploit the system and bug MMR to over 3,000. Now we will have to compete with ALL exploiters instead of just a handful spread out on each battlegroup. They will occupy literally all the spots on the top percentile. This absolutely sucks because Blizzard has allowed exploiters to run rampant in RBGs for three seasons straight without properly addressing the situation.
