I really like chi brew now, especially against TSG and other melee combs - it allows me to do a high amount of counter pressure at the beginning of the fight

Hey dude, thanks for the guide, it was really helpfull. Im a 1800 rated night elf monk on Emerald dream and im really looking to improve my game play a ton. Basicly get up to 2k and higher. I was wondering if we could acually talk in game and give me the run down on high rated 3's and some helpfull tips. But overall thanks for the guide, helped a ton.

I don't play anymore but sometimes I get on AJ just to see what's going on, feel free so post questions on here and I'll respond sometime.

Thank you for taking the time to make such a comprehensive guide. I found it immensly helpful.

Hopefully you can find some time to play again... this game needs more generous people like you.

There isn't really a 5s comp that would benefit a monk over any other class, your best bet is probably going to be some sort of wizard wizard ww healer healer team, I don't play anymore and when I did I didn't do 5s so I'm not sure what is best, melee or caster cleaves, but that is just what I think I could see doing well. Keep asking others though because my credibility on what is good in the game right now is low.

So i'm new to both 3s and WW, didnt really do either until a couple weeks ago, but wanted to add comments to how WW works with Enh/Healer, which my team is coining as "Turbo-Chi".

I've been running with a HPala, but think a RDruid might be best because of cyclone and giving enh a solar beam, i dont know any good rdruids except me on my alt, so not sure if anyone else could try it out.

it basically plays just like turbo cleave does, as the WW i take the place of the warrior, and just pressure pressure and pressure, and peel their dps with stuns and paralysis.

our best games seem to be when im target switching often, burst one target down and force their defenses, immediately switch to the next and force their defenses, then as soon as all three used their defenses; we can often pick the squishiest one and TEB>RSK>FoF>Ascendance for the kill. this works really well because most games theyre training the enh leaving me wide open to push each of their players into defense as i desire which opens any of them up for a 1shot kill in the enh ascendance.

because enh is melee the offhealing of chi wave often bounces so fast it can be used as a great healing cooldown to save his life when our healer gets cc'd. as ive found the bounce on chi wave between 2 casters is so slow it acts more like a hot when im with a caster dps vs melee dps.

we lack spammable cc which is what seems to be dominating so much these days (reason why i think rdruid might be better), but fear>stun>hex while i paralysis the left over non-kill target can land kills very well

at the end what makes this work well is that even though enh shamans get trained to the ground, the classes they get wrecked by the hardest (rogues and DKs) WW can lock down pretty easily. RoP+Disable+Detox can totally negate DK burst, and FoF+GW+180k RSK absolutely destroys rogues (hell i've accidentally killed a rogue when i was just trying to force a vanish to peel him from the enh).

also, because enh burst is ranged, i can be on any target within los and he can ascendance for the kill.

after breaking 2k rating last night (for the first time for all three of us); we immediately lost 3 in a row to warr/mage/rdruid, mm/enh/rdruid, and mm/sub/rdruid; other comps and even those same comps with a different healer weve been able to manage fine against. rdruid comps seem to give us the most trouble because of cyclone, and rdruids are very hard to get uptime on to put in pressure and stop cyclones unless we are playing on ruins or nagrand. still not sure how to handle yet, any advice would be welcome though.

Nice guide.

However I have a little question about lvl 75 talents.

If I understand well you recommend Healing elixirs against melee cleaves and diffuse magic against casters cleaves.

But could you explain why dampen harm is worthless ?

Edit :

Ok I tried it It's totally useless x)

Full Grievous gear = around 470k health with priest buff over 500k, 20% of 470k is 94k so on a 1.5 min CD Dampen Harm will save you from at least 47k damage (1/2 of 94k) 3 times

Healing Elixirs will heal you for 70k (15% of 470k (healing elixirs is unaffected by battle fatigue also)) every 18 seconds if you use brews every time it is up which is up to 5 times every 1.5 minutes compared to Dampen Harm which only reduces 3 hits over 94k by half (saving you from at least 141k damage) every 1.5 minutes while Healing Elixirs can heal you for up to 350k every 1.5 minutes

So yeah, Dampen Harm is complete garbage compared to Healing Elixirs

If they increased the amount of charges that Dampen Harm has to around 5-7 and lowered the damage threshold to about 15% it would be a much better talent

Thanks for doing the math. Hope they'll buff this talent soon, It's a joke now.

Another tiny question, what profs do you recommend for humans ww monks ?

I am torned between tailoring+any prof that gives passive agi bonus and tailoring+engineering since we can generate tiger eye brews stacks a lot faster with the new chi brew.

Tailoring and Engineering are best imo passive stats from Enchanting, Jewelcrafting, and Alchemy aren't bad either

Yeah for non-humans those profs are definitely the best but for humans that play with grievous badge I'm not sure...

If I'm not CC'ed I can burst once per 30 secs (with 6-10 stacks) so badge & synapse springs are a good choice.

If I'm CC' ed a lot I need more time to build stacks and my synapse springs will be useless...

So I'm a bit confused :)

human ww = tailoring + any 320 passive stat, i'd recommend alchemy because it is cheap for one and two it only requires you to level it to 300 to get the 320 stat flask

Didn't knew about alchemy thanks :)

Edit :

Btw for RBG would you recommend healing elixirs or diffuse magic ?

Edit 2 :

Okay, I just run with healing elixirs most of the time.
