hey they finally unlinked exp trap and BA

  • Explosive Trap no longer shares a cooldown with Black Arrow but can no longer activate Lock and Load.

also of note:
  • Narrow Escape's root effect is now a nature spell (was a physical spell).
  • Hunter's Mark now has a duration of 20 seconds while in PvP combat (down from 30 seconds).
  • Readiness now finishes the cooldowns on Rapid Fire, Feign Death, Deterrence, Disengage, and Camouflage when activated (was all Hunter abilities with a base cooldown of less than 5 minutes).
  • Revive Pet no longer requires the Hunter to have line-of-sight to their pet.

Ok so they forced us into marks now but will it be good against melee teams training us lol. also explosive trap glyph feels mandatory now. and serious can anyone name a spec that does not have a kick or a silence as a dps? Moonkin is about as close as that gets but solar beam typhoon cyclone.

General


    Arcane Shot had its damage and focus cost increased by 50%.

Talents


    Aspect of the Iron Hawk now reduces all damage taken by 10%, down from 15%.
    Narrow Escape's root effect is now a nature spell (was a physical spell).
    Silencing Shot is no longer a talent and is now an ability for Marksman Hunters.
    Spirit Bond now regenerates 3% of total health every 2 seconds while the Hunter's pet is active (up from 2%).
    Wyvern Sting now has a range of 40 yards (up from 35 yards).


Glyphs


    Glyph of Mend Pet now has a 100% chance of cleansing 1 Curse, Disease, Magic or Poison effect from the Hunter's pet on each tick (up from 50% chance).
    Glyph of No Escape now increases the ranged critical strike chance against targets affected by the Hunter's Freezing Trap by 100% (up from 20% chance).


Marksman


    Binding Shot is no longer a Marksman Hunter ability and is once again a talent.


Survival


    Explosive Trap no longer shares a cooldown with Black Arrow but can no longer activate Lock and Load.

It does suck a huge chode that we are losing silencing shot, but the explosive shot glyph availability is a huge buff in itself, especially when we already do some insane pressure.  I'm actually semi-ok with this, because it makes for far more gamebreaking play by using explosive trap well, even on flat maps - knocking a healer and his dps in opposite directions, or having your dk grip him onto the trap and he gets knocked even further (so now he's on the clear opposite side of the map.  

Would I prefer we still had SS?  Sure, but I guess I'll just get used to wyvern =p

trap and wyvern does not share drs, inb4 mld cc rotations *


does the readiness mean that they are not reseting trinket for bw? thats good!

every spec has a kick or silence

yes, even BM and SV after 5.4: they can still use a gorilla or moth pet

don't tell me that doesn't count because afaik warlocks do not have an interrupt or silence outside of pet CS

edit: im not saying this is good or how it should be, but the fact is BM and SV still have the option to take a pet for interrupts

Can you just stop posting on the Hunter board, please?

Good changes tough, even if i laughed a bit at the Mage PvP damage buff.

Forcing people into marks is so annoying why cant hunters have more than 1 viable spec...

Effective use of readiness was something that could separate average and good hunter, but no more I guess.

they've stated they don't want all specs to be viable because it bloats the game

if we can have only 1 viable spec i'd much rather it be MM or SV than BM. since it looks like it's going to be MM i don't really have any complaints lol
