Better question is why it doesn't have a cooldown and lasts 35+ seconds

Yeah. I'd be cool with a CD ability to use to prevent a vanish or something, but this fire and forget BS is retarded.

its long overdue and needs to get some sort of nerf cus its clearly faar to good.

WIth how dispels are, and how long the duration is, I really don't think an 8 second CD is enough. Ferals can keep it up just about as much as a caster druid. I think like 30 sec for the stealth portion (break it into 2 abilities?) would be fair, with 8 second duration. Completely owning a rogue's ability to stealth w/ that is not fair. It should be more of a reaction ability. A rogue is about to vanish? Flop FF on him w/ like an 8 second duration to stop it. It shouldn't just be "Oh FF isn't on the rogue, lets throw it up again."

Or at least make it drop out of combat or something.

Have to be careful with this, since they just nerfed Moonkin via Glyph of Solar Beam (I know it was silly, but still a nerf) and gave them Glyph of Omens.  One of the only high points of that glyph is being able to spam FF to get into eclipse, and it's a fairly mediocre glyph as is.  Of course, I'm sure that won't affect the design decisions because Moonkin has always gotten hosed via nerfs to resto, same as ele and resto sham nerfs.  

I'm not going to pretend I don't spam it on rogues/ferals/priests to stop their invis, but it has other uses as well that prevent it from being a long cd.  I'm pretty sure feral and guardian still use it rotationally in PvE, as well, since it does damage and FF gives high threat for Guardian.

Just some things to consider in ideas about how to nerf it, not at all saying it's balanced.

FF really needs to be reworked, the mechanic is way too old since the change on dispel. Rogue at the moments is really reliable on resets the damage outside of dance is already poor and vs wizard comps + resto druid wasting a dispel is very risky, CoS to remove FF is like suicide so ur 100% reliable on your healer to dispel you at the right time when you go out of combat which is well really hard vs teams that know what to do because pressure is already high when you pull back to reset, if they get you in combat it may even force defensive cds. To be honest I wouldnt care that much about FF if sustained damage was higher. Rogue is also missing so many old school passives like dirty deeds. Unfortunately in this PvE world FF will never be reworked lol.

But who cares rogue is dogshit, only reason it was god mode last patch was cuz of retarded dance + scale of mastery and 99% of the people didnt peel it properly or couldnt due to tarderfuge (the aoe in the game is so balanced).

Dispel mechanic is stupid imo. Reworking FF other way than adding same cd as its on feral atm would be stupid too.

I hate it one my rogue also but only time i really have trouble with it is in 2v2 when i dont have a dispeller...and 2v2 is not balanced in anyway so its not a big deal. 3v3, 5v5 or RBG you will 99 percetn of the time have someone that can dispell it, including yourself with a 1 minute CD on cloak if you have to vanish just use cloak.

30 sec is a bit to long i agree. Maybe 15-20 be better.

This statement is so fucking awful in so many ways that even though I haven't played retail in nearly a year now I still can't let it just pass me by.

I don't mean to be offensive, but this is a prime example as to why members shouldn't be granted automated posting rights. There are going to be beginners who'll browse these forums for general advice and may succumb under the impression it's fine to use a 1 minute cooldown in order to use a 2 minute cooldown instantly afterwards.

Recklessly spamming cooldowns is bad. Time your cooldowns and look to gain advantage by forcing your enemies out of their defensive cooldowns by using the least amount of offensive cooldowns yourself.

I know this is way off topic, I just felt compelled to reply on the matter.

No one ever complained about FF before the pandas came. I've only really noticed people complaining since they took cloak off prep, and since I saw that Swifty boomkin video where he finally figured out what it does. Some of us enjoyed FF for years before that, thanks alot Swifty. :(

I agree that Faerie Fire is quite a dumb mechanic having no CD and a long duration but same goes for DK deseases imo from the POV of a Rogue. There is no excuse for them lasting 30 god damn seconds.

I've hated it since wrath. The only difference now is that a healer can't easily dispel it off of you anymore because dispel has a CD. Has nothing to do with swifty, but everything to do with the new dispel mechanic.


Also, I don't mind dk diseases as much honestly. They are annoying, but at least I can stealth with them, and guarantee an opener with subterfuge if you time it right out of combat. You can also vanish with them up. But I still wouldn't complain if they were lowered. Faerie fire though completely prevents me from stealthing.
