I was talking with some friends today of Cata RBG's.

I was in WIZARDS on Bleeding Hollow at the time if you remember during S10 in Cata. I can't remember why Prot Warrior was superior to DK and how Feral was an alternative as an FC.

Also from what I remember, Caster comps > Melee.

I remember running 2-3 Mages, 1-2 Afflic Warlocks, 1 Resto Druid, 1 Disc Priest, 1 Holy Paladin, and 1 Resto Shaman. Sometimes 2 Resto Sham.

I also remember dot comps using a Boomy, 3-4 Afflic Locks/Fire Mages.

Anyone remember? It is on the tip of my tongue.

I remember Prot Warriors having significant CD's to mitigate damage when needed, and DK's being susceptible to damage more so than a Prot. I also remember DK's lacking mobitlity. I think Feral Druids had the greatest mobility and HP pools which is why they were alternatives to Prot Warriors.

One of every class was the best comp. I know this because we destroyed everyone.

I miss playing with a bunch of hardcore PVE'ers that had insane gear and could pve hard as fuck into clumps of people.
And now participation is awful since they've been kinda shunned away.

Season 9: melee > casters, except for boomkins which were even more insane than they are now. RBGs were probably at their most popular, many guild groups ran them for achievements and ventrilo was still popular. Rambojohny would run something like double dk, double arms warrior, feral druid and Gilneas would be the worst map to face melee trains.

Season 10: lots of direct damage and target calls, not spread. Ele shamans were actually viable, four healing was popular. The mage was the first kill target.

Season 11: Cross realm RBGs came into play and PVE gear became a focal point with people not wanting you unless you had cunning. Combustion one shot everything. Disc priest were the first kill target because they could MD combustion and heroism.

I heard we turned Bleeding Hollow into a good server starting out in S11. I quit due to the release of the PvE legendaries. I thought of Shadowplay/MLS/RLS, etc. teams where there would be legendary staves and daggers everywhere. I did not want to deal with it so I quit. MoP proved to be disappointing as well.

Edit: Oh and I just talked to Depeser yesterday. He's still doing fine. Half of the team is still on retail doing arena while the other half quit due to arena/RBG's not being as good (in their opinion).

This is all correct but I'd like a more in depth answer to my questions.
