Subtlety
  • Find Weakness Your Ambush, Garrote, and Cheap Shot abilities reveal a flaw in your target's defenses, causing all your attacks to bypass 70% 100% of that enemy's armor for 10 sec. Rogue - Subtlety Spec.
Thoughts?

~~At least thugcleave gets something to compensate for the scatter shot dr change :duckers:

Well, thug is extremely weak atm and sometimes targets don't die before sap wears off, this will alleviate that problem.

Wrong way to nerf them. Let rogue keep their ability to use stealth abilities during subterfuge, but remove the stealth...

Hope this suffices, our 68,50 percent resil shaman got 153k evis followed by 161k crit evis crit and flopped before we could see him..

Reminds me of the good old vanilla days where one could gank undergeared players with ambush + backstab and their combat log would only say:

Unknown's Ambush crits you for bajillion.
Unknown's Backstab crits you for gazillion.
You die.

This is in line with the other nerfs for other classes (colossus smash etc) but I dislike the whole concept of different classes having different armor values. Before it made more sense(vanilla), now it doesn't. It's just an arbitrary thing that certain melees get fucked over by high armor targets without getting anything in return (more mobility/survivability). Wish they'd just rework armor and balance it around healer armor vs dps armor vs tank armor, but that's a big change, until then this change is an ok one, but they really really need to buff rogue damage outside of dance now.

I'm actually worried, the pvp power nerf combined with this nerf, and add on top of that hybrid healing buffs and I think rogues will be in a pretty bad spot next season. Might be wrong, might turn out to be fine, but from the games I've played on PTR rogues had nowhere near OP burst even before this change.

Ohwell, we'll see how it turns out, I just don't like the jo-jo balancing they're doing, rogues SHIT in 5.1, ok overbuff them for 5.2, and now they're overnerfing for 5.3.. Wish for once that they'd just do small nerfs and let things play out for a month or so and then readjust.

Find Weakness now causes all your attacks to bypass 100% of that enemy's armor for 10 sec, up from 70%. Down to 50% against players.

were gonna need a lot of help now in swaps with the pvp power nerf on top of the find weakness nerf.. idk if this is the only change inc tho so i cant tell yet.. anyone tried it out on the PTR yet?

I still dont get why they are not buffing passive dmg, for all classes for that matter and nerf the freaking burst 1 shot macros. Outside of dance rogues are close to useless dps wise and this nerf  and maybe some more to dance, and buff Backstab/hemo dmg.
Tired of this 1 shot expansion already

Yeah right now rogue's damage in arena ( on ptr ) is horrid. Nearly every single melee deals more damage and selfheals for more. I wish theyd rework hemo into sanguinary and recoup back to proccing energy like in cata, would help (minorly) on the sustained damage.

That part made me laugh. I agree about rogues being rather pathetic in mop pre-5.2, but I call bullshit on overnerfing for 5.3. Also these are numbers based on ptr, dunno if u've played there, but rogues are unreal there. Even with the fix to warriors and the lower dmg, rogues do some dmg that would make anyone cry. Its far from overnerf. I wouldn't say its that needed of a nerf, tho it rly rapes rogues vs dk in bpresence. I'll just say go on the ptr and see for urself. Feels like ppl keep calling overnerfs when their class gets a minor nerf. Warriors colsmash has been like that for ages, and warriors are mostly good at the start of expansions, but its a thing that is well thought out before released. Now go to the ptr and have some fun, see how much it affects u. Imho, rogues are more than fine there and will be able to do alot next season, but not as fine as they do now.

I think it's an overnerf unless sustained damage gets buffed.
