Silly nerf, do not approve. Expecting and avoiding a Scatter + Trap is also a part of the few skillful things that are still in the game. They're removing that just as much as nerfing hunters cc. Either way it's bad change, there are plenty of other things to adress.

OT: I never understood this kind of reasoning. Why shouldn't "skilled" hunters play bm? Maybe in wrath when they didn't have scatter / silencing shot so they were just a dmg turret, but now?

What's such a big difference in pressing keybind 2 vs keybind 2? (where 2 is either chimera or kill command). I understand you might have a preference towards a a play style or another, but why would you gimp yourself by playing a spec with less cc brakers, less cc and (maybe, not really sure) less dmg/burst?

It's like me saying "skilled" rogues should play combat because... fuck yeah!

I find the nerf really well thought out. Even if you put abilities on a longer cd at some point a hunter can still chain them together for insane cc. Imo they found a better solution by putting some of the 4 short cd cc on different DRs (!!!) on the same DR.

The only thing opened for discussing if trap and scatter are the best ones to be chosen. Maybe they could have put stuns (if cast by the hunter) and trap on the same DR, similar to DF+ring in cata. Maybe they could have chose smth else.

But in the end it's the same result: less cc from hunters, and i doubt anyone would complain about that.

I would make freezing trap undispelable 30 sec or 1 min cd and it should behave similar to blood fear, selfbuff that traps someone attacking hunter and it shouldnt be used as a cc on healer. BW should also be removed from game 4 pvp trinkets in 2 minutes window is beyond retarded. Class fixed.

So basically remove trap entirely as a healer CC and remove bestial wrath.  Yep class fixed for sure!

Beastial wrath should be reverted to what it was in s6 - when the game was somewhat "balanced".

-Not resetable by readiness
-Not usable in cc
-Gives you and your pet a 8-10sec immunity to cc

This would be a good change for overall arena balance, and it'd promote the core playstyle of BM hunters. It'd also remove the problem of hunters having "3 pvp trinkets".

Pretty sure Holinka tweeted that they were happy with Hunters and weren't looking to change CC in 5.3. They're probably just testing it out.

It's pretty pointless regardless. It just means every Hunter will need to Pet CC into Trap then Scatter so Scatter is the DRd CC instead of Trap. Not that huge since Scatter into Trap is unreliable and most high rated Hunters use Web Wrap into Trap anyways.

So it ends up being 16 seconds of CC every 30 instead of 18 every 30. A nerf, but not a huge one in the slightest unless you're currently following Hunter CC up with Hex or Poly etc.
