You might be able to survive stun -> Silence combos with this dmg nerf, cause you wont suffer much from healing reduce. Palas only die if they cant heal, but if they cant, they die fast. ^_^

This is going to be a horrible change. I mean burst damage ain't even high these days...  Going to end up with horrible long games where no one can kill each other (aka 2vs2). They need to increase the damage a healer can put out. Smite hitting for 6k ffs. 6.0.0.0. That's fucking  below 1.5% of a buffed targets health.

They need to add a debuff in arena that makes healers lose mana over time too. No one ever ever ever goes oom. And if they do, they can drink for a wooping 5 seconds and they are back at 50%.

holy shock crits for 39k on PTR and WoG for 60

u can die in opener vs rmp, u could die in opener in s6 vs ret rogue disc, same stuff different comps. not much changes.

Yeah, a lot of the PvP bonuses are actually really good for classes which also helps deter the pve sets getting overused. I actually thought 40 seconds off Dark Soul would be great for Warlocks though, and definitely be tempting for them since I keep hearing how they do nothing outside of it.  

Warrior t14 2pc also looked like a great trade off (25% MS damage) compared to Heroic Leap sprint but I haven't played Warrior in MoP to know how crucial they consider it.

The only time I've died in an opener was in 5s vs rogue, moonkin and mage. Dat smoke bomb / solar beam...

Haven't we waited for this? a overall damage reduction in arena that affects everyone.

Burst nerfs promote heavy cc teams like MLD thats about it.

In 3s it's (disregarding chain crits with <30% crit chance) mostly because cooldowns/trinket were not used. You can be forced to blow everything but going down with everything used in the opener is very rare. RMP/Thugcleave openers can do that but I think this change and 5.3 gear changes (weapons going from ilvl498 to 496 while gear goes from 493 to 496) will make it less likely to happen. In WotLK you could just die in a global if things went bad. Even these 160k Eviscerates with every proc in the game take less than 50% of the players health and I doubt we will see these numbers in 5.3 anymore.  

5.3 with rating inflation could be the best season in a long time. Hoping I'm right.

@Lieto: Agree, dominant defensive caster cleaves are the worst, especially for tournaments. Hoping the meta game does not favor turtle comps.
