i disagree, one could argue that the skillcap on a shaman is way higher than paladin.

the skill cap is probably higher, but 2.4k isn't exactly Kollectiv and Cdew tier is it? Generally, shaman don't need to give a fuck about positioning, they screw up and get feared, they can get locked out, or just be shitty, but they always have something to deal with it. Oh look a poly and Im not by a pillar, ground, oh i got feared, tremor, oh I got locked out, healingstream/riptide/earthsiled/earthliving will keep my team alive.

Paladins are so bad its disgusting. Even monks are probably better. I don't see myself playing holy anymore if something isn't done. My shaman that hit 90 a few weeks ago heals for much more and has more anti-cc.

locks are stronger than before

holy paladins are the same

locks are currently strong against holy paladins

holy paladins are doing slightly worse as a result, though this is debatable as there is arguably nowhere to go but up at this point

well pala healing is pretty good tbh, its just that for example restoshaman has way more mechanics to survive or keep his team mates alife while stunned/ccd - hots, natures guardian, earth shield etc. Also, paladin cant avoid cc with shocks/groundings, which is a big problem due to this much instant cc in the game

I am playing ret until fixed.

Pallies just need a more "skilled" way of getting out of CC. The problem with sacrifice is that it's very passive. You stick it on a partner and that's it. Hence it needs to be dispellable because if it wasn't then you would basically have unholy frenzy (really stupid ability btw).

Whereas shamans have a more "reactive" method of avoiding CC - shock and grounding (used to be tremor in a way, but that's not skilled anymore). If you're terrible, you're never going to be able to avoid CC with shock or grounding. Thus they can have relatively low cooldowns and pretty much always be available in the Shaman's toolbox.

If sacrifice was changed to be something, I dunno... SW:death?, it could have the cooldown significantly reduced and Pallies would be able to use it to avoid CC and be better in arenas. Maybe something like "the next damaging attack on the target that you sacrifice is transferred to you." Or less drastically "20% of the damage that your sacrificed target takes in the next 1-2 seconds is transferred to you."

So you sac someone then get CCed and they take an instance of damage and it breaks you out of the CC. But if you use it too early it gets wasted.

You could put it on a 30 second cooldown (maybe even a bit less?) if that was the case.
Bye again! This game isn't fun when you don't know anyone else that still plays.
