If you're purely looking to stop damage though, disarming a feral is a good thing to do.

It's been a long time... but I don't think weapons were more than a stat stick back then. They didn't use weapon damage at all.

But apparently, as bouncyballs points out in the post after this one, when disarmed Ferals deal 50% of their normal damage. Yet another mechanic I was not aware of, me bad :x

When you disarm Ferals or WW monks, it decreases their damage done by 50%.
There is nothing to it other than that.
no weapon damage/calculations, its literally just a flat decrease of their damage by 50%.
this is in fact a new mechanic added to the game.

I still did it. might at well vs something without any other melee.
