Official Blizzard Quote:

Picking up the Alliance or Horde flag while in a Rated Battleground now increases damage taken by 50% for characters in a tanking specialization, and increases damage taken by 20% for characters in a non-tanking specialization.

Tank Glyph Warlocks?

What non-tank spec has better survival than them if the difference is big enough?

Warlocks, Feral Druids and even Boomkin Druids with warlock symbiosis.

Windwalker Monks could work quite well if people stopped using tank-specced classes... I guess ?

So being in a protection spec will mean 5 stacks, but without the snare effect.Don't know what is better, having a FC in the team that starts with 5 stacks or a non-FC with 2 stacks...Means FC takes 150% dmgs and a non-FC 120% dmgs, +10% per new stack :Stacks (method : 150*1,x and 120*1,x)
  • FC 165% / Non FC 132%
  • FC 180% / Non FC 144%
  • FC 195% / Non FC 156%
  • FC 210% / Non FC 168%
  • FC 225% / Non FC 180%
  • FC 240% / Non FC 192%
  • FC 255% / Non FC 204%
  • FC 270% / Non FC 216%
  • FC 285% / Non FC 228%
  • FC 300% / Non FC 240%
Stacks (method : 150*1,1 = 165, 165*1,1 = 181,5 etc...)
  • FC 165% / Non FC 132%
  • FC 181,5% / Non FC 145,2%
  • FC 199,65% / Non FC 159,72%
  • FC 219,615% / Non FC 175,692%
  • FC 241,5765% / Non FC 193,2612%
  • FC 265,73415% / Non FC 212,58732%
  • FC 292,307565% / Non FC 233,846052%
  • FC 321,5383215% / Non FC 257,2306572%
  • FC 353,69215365% / Non FC 282,95372292%
  • FC 389,061369015% / Non FC 311,249095212%
So as we can see, in the 2 methods the FC takes approx 1/4(25%) more dmgs when he has 10 stacks, but we have to take in mind that for example with a warrior, the difference in 2 specs (here arms and protection) is quite big.I am not going to take in mind the resilience because it's not changing on the specialization, and to take in note :
  • All characters now have a base Resilience of 65%.
  • Resilience has been removed from most PvP gear.
  • Battle Fatigue now reduces the amount of healing and absorbs by 45%, up from 30%.
  • PvP Power bonus to healing is now based on class and specialization.
  • Healing specializations receive a 100% bonus to healing from PvP Power.
  • Damage specializations for Druids, Monks, Paladins, Priests, and Shamans receive a 70% bonus to healing from PvP Power.
  • All other specializations and classes (including tanking) receive a 40% bonus to healing from PvP Power.
  • Resilience has been removed from most PvP gear.
  • Resilience gems and enchants will continue to be available and remain unchanged.
  • 4-piece PvP set bonus for all Season 12 and 13 armor sets that granted 1000 Resilience now grants 1000 PvP Power instead.

In my personnal opinion in this case arms warriors might be slightly better to carry the flag, but this reveals some new problems :
- Shouldn't we bring 4 healers instead of 3 in rbgs ?
- Games at twink peaks and warsong are going to be really faster and harder, are warriors still going to be usefull in rbg ? (because to be honest, arms warriors are shit in rbg, prot are good, and if arms warriors can be carrier, a lot of other classes can...)

Gnome rogue flagcarrier with Glyph of Feint, Cloak Glyph, BoS, probably the best combination of constant damage reduction and mobility. Add Symbiosis for even more defense.

Problem is Hilde, that rogues gets blown up in stuns and have no damage reduction that they can use while stunned.

Their HP pool and armor are also fairly low.

I've played with 4 healers for multiple seasons, it is possible as of now, however alot of groups dont like the playstyle because it's very turtle based and people like to just get in the rbg and get it over with asap (completely understandable).
4 healers for maps like gilneas or eots works well if you have great stealth teams (mage/rogue). I.e send a dk + war 4 heals ww and someone grab lh. send rest to mines(back way) to nuke whoever is there or just cc them, cap mines + lh while people stall at ww + dk + war keeping pressure up to force people to stay/not able to peel to help mines.

FC maps is quite the same, just turtle stacks send 2 man offense 8 man D and play extremely gay (play roof with boomkin knockoffs/aoe stuns/aoe fears/aoe anything) with 10 stacks until rogue/mage set up a kill.

TL;DR with this change it can be better with 4 healers if people actually don't mind the longer games and if you can coordinate a proper stealth team.

But why bother when you can just run boomy rogue dk mage double lock and just crash mid every game, whoever wins in mid wins the game. Because we all know everyone loves rbgs...

dayum you right i remember (probably not you) facing you last season as arms warrior, some pretty decent damages, but when you go with a DK yes indeed... boom.

But i'm saying arms warrior can be cool in a melee cleave, but most people will prefer to stack warlock/boomy/dk ahah.

And guys don't forget, arms warriors have die by the sword, a pretty OP ability to add that prot warriors don't have !

def stance going again to 25% dmg reduction...

I guess ferals are going to be good as FC, maybe warlock too ? :o

I think honestly that they've done this to make the games shorter instead of waiting the stacks to show up, so it'll probably be about speed capping. (oh druids and monks ^^)

Anybody thought of using PvE tank gear? Apparently they are nerfing tanks as spec, but the gear remains untouched. Having this extra mitigation and sockets might come in handy.
