I agree that the cutoff really needs to be higher. 5% sounds way too much but I think it would be great if they doubled it.
You need to think a bit further than only to look at the ladder. If they doubled the cutoff it would draw a lot of players back into arena making arena a lot more competitive even at lower ratings. There are really a lot of duelists and even rivals who have completely given up on arena just because they don't see themselves hitting gladiator. Doubling the cutoff gives them hope and obviously increases 3v3 activity.

The only players who disagree are elitist nerds who should get out and realize it's a game. If they double it and at the same time balance the game so players don't have anything big to whine about a lot of players would probably keep playing even next season just because they don't get globaled or run into other overpowered classes.

While i agree, can't say its a big issue considering Monks are still non-existent in the ladder.

No - monks have started popping everywhere. Especially mw's whose only weakness is getting trained (they run oom rly fast if trained). Couple them with something like sp rogue and u can smash ANYTHING

I play on three different BGs and I have yet to face a monk over 2k, not that I haven't seen a few on the ladder but it really isn't popular.

that said, ring of peace does need a fix and they need to be compensated other ways.

SW:D or Unholy Frenzy would be a nice replacement for Mistweavers or anything to avoid casted cc, at least let Meditation ground cc. Mistweavers pretty much need a shadowpriest or shaman on their team or they will get cced to death. For some reason many teams still believe Mistweavers are bad target, but unless you blow cds into Dematerialize they die pretty fast. Ring of Peace gives them an overpowered ability that makes up for them being the easiest to control healer and the healer that needs to be the most offensive at the same time.

Holinka great man. Please remove frostbomb/NT from the game and make us go back to BC style play frostbolt/icelance style and remove ring of skill & rogue throw interrupt.

I liked the old playstyle more aswell, when you actually used frostbolt. Tbc (and wotlk I guess) mage was one of the most fun classes in the game.

I honestly think Holinka may be the best thing to happen to WoW's PVP since the game launched. In the short time he has been there he has already gotten a lot of great stuff done and I am sure there is much more to come. Sure there are still big problems with PVP and he isn't going to fix them all overnight. But just knowing that there is someone there focused on PVP development constantly pushing things in a good direction gives me an enormous amount of hope for the future of the game.

I am really looking forward to seeing how the changes in 5.3 play out, and what he comes up with next. I am also really happy to see the community supporting him and giving lots of genuine constructive feedback, it really does matter.

no. i am saying that it would make more sense to have 1 ladder instead of 13. possibly even better to have 3v3 rating work like RBG rating where your rating carries on from team to team, and you just Q in a group like you do RBGs for the specific bracket. in this case you would have just a ladder of the highest rated 3v3 players instead of the highest rated teams, just like the RBG ladder isn't populated by teams; it's populated by players.
