NT was brainless specced with PoM and RoF.  We had no casts at all that did damage or was reliable CC, only instant CC and instant damage.  But now with Frostjaw NT + Frostbolt buff, we have less instant CC and more casted damage.  Frostbomb->DF burst is actually less casting than the new Frostjaw -> Frostbolt ->DF -> Frostbolt.  The only brainless thing left about the spec is that A: it does way too much fucking damage and B : NT cleave still breaks poly.

If they fix both, we'll still need to cast to get kills, and we can actually use our CC.  It's totally outdated that they made us a multidotting class with uncontrollably cleaving dots, but our main CC still breaks on 1 damage.

Before you say it - I'm not asking for a net buff to NT mages.  We're obviously broken right now because of the 40% buff on top of frostbolt damage being what it is.  But I reject the assertion that NT is brainless now, and I think with a few changes we could make it significant spread pressure, and put more of a reliance on casting, WITHOUT forcing every Mage to use Frost Bomb.  We have many many reasons to cast spells right now other than Frost Bomb.

Hotfixed? This is the first time in the history of wow that mage is the class that puts out the most dmg every game. They literally need a 30% damage nerf across the board and so do shadowpriests as well.

That's what he's refering too. They reduced NT and Living Bomb damage against players to 70% in a hotfix.

Spriest need it too, but more in utility than damage.

No - they need way more dmg nerfs - mages always had the best control and rly strong burst windows. Now they still have top control and they have more damage than anything else but boomkins.

lets be honest here, the mage talents were horribly designed

each bomb should have come with with the respective spec, and then we wouldn't have this situation

they probably don't cast anymore because even if you fake kick and get away from shadowstep and start casting, fake deadly throw at the end of your 8 second polymorph cast they can just shuriken toss enough combo points to do another cooldown-free ranged interrupt on you before your next hearthstone length polymorph goes off

Incanter's absorption is an abomination and should be completely removed. Mage bust is too high with 0 setup.

mages are silly right now, especially against paladins.  frostjaw->fb->deep fb fb ffb->blanket cs is a guaranteed bubble or kill. really really silly rofl.

NT is a retarded playstyle, so is forcing major defensive cd's every 30 seconds.  You can force the same defensives by replacing the frostbolts with fof ice lances while the orb is beating on you.  Same damage all instant casts.  Granted its harder to play frost bomb mage out of god comp, but that doesn't make the damage not completely retarded.

After watching a few streams I can totally agree warlock dots are definitely on the weak side. However, the amount of pressure that can be generated w/ demon soul up is out of this world. I think the buffing of dot dmg would definitely require some changing on your second point (too easy to apply)

Warlocks are really in a tough spot. From what I have seen they perform on a top lvl in PvE.

I haven't done any number crunching on it whatsoever but maybe half the cd and effectiveness of demon soul?
