Has anyone else encountered this grand bug of your pet disappearing after it dies so you can use Heart of the Phoenix to revive it? I've lost three games tonight specifically to a boomkin team because I was unable to get a pet back out.

Pets are too easy to kill. Mend pet doesn't do shit. Until they decide to buff pet resilience/health/rez time, learn to abuse the abandon script. I hate playing with it, but it's really the only viable option.
