I got Apple TV. I was skeptical at first, but jailbroken that device shits all over the old "media centers" and similar devices. If they added support for various streaming services/sites (e.g. netflix) in the OS itself and I wasn't pirating all my movies, I wouldn't even need the jailbreak, although XBMC is really neat and I'd use it anyway.

I can see how easy that can progress into console gaming, although I personally doubt that Apple wants to step into the gaming industry, what happened with mobile gaming feels like a coincidence because their devices and platform just happened to be the most popular and widespread (and imo the best one, Android just makes me feel like I'm holding a PC in my hand that needs to be constantly taken care of and maintained, not something I want).

Also, Apple TV is far from overpriced (~$100), but is probably the only Apple product that isn't.

XBMC (http://xbmc.org/). I mostly use it to stream off of various movie/tvshow streaming sites or to stream video files off of my PCs HDD, but people coded modules for pretty much everything you'd ever want to do with a TV.

i add all my vids/series to itunes via iflicks to watch them on my ipad so don't really need to jailbreak it but will check out what else you can do with a jailbroken appletv.

yeah but he basically just said he sees apple as competition.. he doesn't say that apple is going to dominate the entire world with their.. apple tv. that's nothing special

I cant express how much i hate apple. The Products itself are overpriced compared to products with the same function, you only pay way more for an apple logo than android for example. Also their policy of nothing being upgradeable is not only annoying for the user (i am talking about computers) but also realy realy bad for our resources if you cant re use anything from a broken mac

Samsung?  Both Apple and Samsung pull in like a hundred billion dollars a year selling smartphones at insane profit margins.  Samsung just has a lot of other not-so-profitable businesses (for example building Apple's smartphone parts, lol).
