PvP
We're making a change to the way damage-to-healing conversions work so that the healing is not affected by resilience. The healing will be based on how much damage would have been done as if the target had no resilience. If you hit an opponent for 10K and have a mechanic that converts damage into 50% healing, your hit may land for 6K because of resilience, but the heal will still be 5K (50% of the unmitigated damage). This only applies to resilience, not to armor, Shield Wall or other forms of damage reduction.

This change currently includes Atonement, Glyph of Battle Healer, Ancestral Guidance, Vampiric Embrace, Nature's Vigil, Glyph of Siphon Life, Eminence, Glyph of Flame Shock and Leeching Poison.

With this change, glyph of soulshards becoming baseline, and the 25% pvp power effectiveness do you guys think this glyph might be worth using in 5.2? I feel like warlocks are currently severely lacking in the passive healing department relative to previous expansions and I would like to see this change help.

Average Corruption tick: 4k.
Unmitigated by resilience tick: about 12,000
Healing per tick from Siphon Life Glyph: 12000 * .2 = 2400
With Battle Fatigue: 2400 * .7 = 1680

If we add about 12% for crits, and 10% haste, you get around 2070 healed per tick, or about 1k HPS per Corruption.

I'd say it takes it up from the terrible status it had before.  Not sure if it'll be good enough to use.

did you add in the 25% pvp power?

/e also as our gear scales the healing will get stronger
/e2 I think the glyph should be buffed to like 30-40% range

Locks don't receive the 25% bonus healing provided by PvP power, however, this change looks a good buff for the use of this glyph.

Wonder if it effects the Glyph of Drain Life as well?

I did not, good catch.  It's 25% of PvP power added to healing, yes? (do Warlocks get it?)  So, about 12.5% more healing, or about 1250 healing per second per Corruption.

yeah you're right i just read

Balance, Feral, Windwalker, Retribution, Shadow, Enhancement and Elemental now gain 25% of the bonus healing provided by PvP Power (was 0). Dedicated healers will continue to gain 50% of the bonus healing, and no bonus damage, from PvP Power.

so scratch that idea

I don't think so, since Drain Life heals based on a percentage of your max health.

That glyph really needs to get buffed to 30-40% I think. Outside of a 2 minute cooldown warlocks have no appreciable passive healing at all, and having to glyph in 5.2 to make drain life decent (questionable?) is a complete pi radians turn from the last few expansions.

Gradually going from the only/best passive selfhealer, to one of the worst.

Sometimes I wonder about the logic in removing things from X class, then giving it to Y class.

Well in this expac it seems to be over buff x see whats way too strong and nerf x , the only thing locks had on that end i suppose would be chaos wave.

warlocks... wait, real warlocks are the ones who play afflic and we have no self healing.

we lost soul link and demon armor and in return we got Fel regen (30% hp heal), unending resolve, and either dark bargain or pet sac.

all our self healing is gone.

Real warlocks lol that's silly, and self healing isn't cd based, self healing would be second wind.

Depending on how the heal of siphon life is calculated pvp power may have a significant roll

These numbers aren't exactly accurate but heres the idea: Corruption hits for x on a dummy, factor in pvp power vs a player and it hits x+x*pvpower as a decimal. Let's pretend 60% pvp power and 10k damage, so 10k+10k*.6 = 16k. If the heal of corruption takes into account pvp power then 16k*.2 = 3200,  a pretty significant heal before battle fatigue. This figure needs to be tested as i'm not sure when the heal from the siphon life glyph is calculated.
