Spriest are the most op class right now, you must not be geared enough. I'm not even geared and I out damage almost everyone.
Lock is at the bottom of the chain at the moment....

Your posts have to be 2 words long... I would have just posted "boomkins" which is one word...but since I had to post more than one word i added the extra bit.

Does anyone actually like doing RBG... I thought everyone just did them for the higher cap / easy T2.

Well here's the state of lazerchickens in 5.2:

Nerfs - displacer and typhoon (but thats all druids), vigil nerfed, but can be used outside of incarnation now too with on-use for pressure
Buffs - pvp power on heals, 30 sec aoe root, 9% dmg buff on SS, starfire, wrath, PvE trinket that is gonna be hella broken (see my latest post on Lazerchicken.com if you want details).  Just wait till we are turreting instant ss procs into your team for 150-200k a piece =D

Spriest>mages>locks/boomkins>Ele

Spriest just has the whole package when it comes to arena.  They will still be the best caster.  Mostly due to the utility of their heals, life swap, MD, grip to help bail their healer out in bad spots.

Mages are still strong and arcane looks be put out some serious dmg even with the nerfs.

Locks are going to be in a much better state than they are now but are only going to be middle of the pack.  They will certainly excel in a few comps. This is more or less to due to the buffs of other classes than the buffs they have received.

I think boomkins are in a better spot then most seem to think and if you look at their toolkit they are very similar to Spriest...just without dispell protection and a few larger utility spells.  People underestimate them.  I'd say they are pretty close to being on par with locks.

Ele got a nice defensive buff with SR but considering that they purely rely on actuall y casting to do any damage worth a damn they really have it hard being a strong class considering how easy it is to shut them down.  Also they have lackluster utility.

You're forgetting that Locks scale really well with gear. Especially UA Locks.

Priest > Mage > Warlock > Shaman > Druid for castiing pure damage based on playability, pending equal gear and relative skill

Player > Class as always

I havent forgotten anything about scaling with gear.  But with the current state of the game there is no way that this next tier of gear is going to push locks ahead of mages or spriests.   If mages and spriests receive some addtional nerfs that are of some significance then I might agree that the gap will be much smaller but warlocks are not going to become "overlords" in 5.2 with their current scheduled buffs/changes and a new tier of gear.
