Yeah I know, it's cracked. The guy actually makes some really excellent points though that really are never discussed at all.

Just check it out

Are video games for everyone? No. Do people get violent ideas from video games? Sometimes. Does everyone turn into a psycho killer because they play video games? No. Should video games be regulated more strictly or banned because of this? No. Video games are a form of entertainment that can be abused or misused, just like many other kinds of entertainment. Lack of personal responsibility isn't something that should ruin one thing for everyone.

Well then, what should be done?

IMO, the real root of all of this violence in the US... bad parenting.

Real root of the problem is Ronald Reagan after he cut mental health programs so much. I mean, that's sensationalist and all, but it's the mental health issue we have.

You're an idiot if you think that's not true to a degree.

IIRC I said this in another thread, but I think it's a cultural problem. Not quite in agreement with the article though. He does make some good points but I'd say the issue goes a step further - why people decide other people are the villains to shoot - or stab or bomb or whatever. Some are so alienated, without any sense of community(hell, I don't have one other than internet forums maybe), they end up deciding it's them vs. the world.

Pretty sure Canada, UK, Scandinavian countries, and pretty much anywhere people can afford video gaming there are plenty of violent games being played. In the U.S. though, I think more people hate other people enough to cast them as enemies to be killed. And I'd say machismo, rugged individualism, lack of empathy, things like that get glorified more here too.

You'd have thought given the fact he had alzheimer's while in office he wouldn't have done that.
