Hey, so i basically stopped WoW at the beginning of MoP because i didn't have enough time to gear my character, the upgrade system on every items made me stop WoW.

I heard there is some new changes in 5.2 about gear system but it's pretty confusing tbh, there like millons of thread about it.

I just need to know one thing, in 5.2, the upgrade system will still be here or they reverted it ?
To get back on WoW, i just want the cataclysm system, full gear in 2 months or so, play every alts etc ...

Buy conquest gear till you get up to 22k conquest earnt for the season.
Save as close to 5k conquest as possible after that.
Once at 27k conquest earnt you can purchase the normal tyrannical gladiators gear for honor.
Grind honor and finish upgrading your malevolent -> tyrannical using honor.

Spend the 5k conquest saved upgrading tyrannical -> elite tyrannical (starting with weapon).
Spend the next few weeks using the conquest you earn upgrading tyrannical -> elite tyrannical.

It's 22k points spent on normal tyrannical, 17250 spent on elite tyrannical giving a total of 39,250 need to fully gear.

39,250/3700 (rbg cap) = 11 week to fully gear.
39,250/3000 (reasonable arena cap) = 13 weeks to fully gear.

After that you'd need another 17250 to upgrade an offset which is 5 and 6 weeks respectively extra (rbgs and arena) to get a full offset.

basically you'll be able to get malevolent gear for honor s13, there will be a 5k conq cap next season, @27k conq earned you will be able to buy elite gear (this means t2 wep and oh aswell) i forget what pieces are elite but it's not every slot.

technically the upgrade system is the elite gear now cause it will give more stats but the 2/2 shit is gone.

seems to be so complicated rofl, what the point ? we just need cataclysm system, it was good.

btw, what will happen to the malevolent already upgraded gear if the 2/2 shit is gone ?

They are only removing the upgrade-vendors so all the upgrades you already have will stay

Is the next season honor gear better than my upgraded character with ilvl 490? should i grind CP gear on my alts in arena or should i just wait for honor gear?

according to wowhead the intro tyrannical gear is 496 non upgradeable until u buy the elite version

so on undergeared alts if you dont care about this season u should upgrade major pieces and just keep them and get the tyrannical pieces elsewhere

ah so we actually keep the upgrades on old items but cannot upgrade new ones?

they should make a official thing explaining everything about how the gear will work in 5.2

so the upgrade system is gone in 5.2 but you need to upgrade the tyrannical to elite for having better stats, so it's just like the upgrade system
