2v2 being a joke is affecting arena participation

So I just needed to cap my warrior at dinner time and got some random mage out of trade chat... I'm nearly fully upgraded and have T2 and end up soloing 2 guys while mage figures out how to move his character... MMR is 1300.  Now I constantly see high rated players at stupid low MMR in 2's and I've been stomped by ppl like Dakkroth/Minjepoke (or how ever u spell those names) a couple of times and it just aint fun.  Most new ppl to arena start in 2's because it's the easiest way to get into arena.  If these new people constantly face experienced people in 2's and get stomped with out a slight chance of winning they are just going to quit.

There is no beginner level for arena anymore... there is no progression... you just randomly face people who queue and you might get a rank 1 glad or you might get a 1300 player.  They need to open up the BG's to include all or EU in one, all of USA in another, all of asia in one, etc.  Then make the mmr work properly.

Absolutely right, since the begginers usually always start in 2s, i saw my little brother who just dinged 90, (1st arena ever of french server archimonde) facing a 2000+ mmr team from burning legion, when he was only 12xx mmr... And it's actually the biggest french server :P

Merging all the battlegroups would fix a lot of problems (and if possible making arenas x-server like rbgs, but if possible still having teams would be cool), the inactivity / people transfering for rank 1 / wintraders in 5s at 5:00 am :P

imo the problem is more that 2s is so boring / unbalanced now that people simply doesnt play it.
Hence the 1.2k guy meeting 2k+ teams. The 2k team probably had like atleast a 12minute queue before they even got a game.
So all in all, the mmr system is "working as intended", but noone is queueing.

I know alot of people that dump their mmr so capping goes fast.

It may also lie in the problem that you are currently playing on a hotspot server!

What would be cool is that they make 2s a special bracket (with some restrictions/rules), for example, you cant use certain abilities (to balance a bit), some classes have some nerfs only on this bracket (like the healing fatigue debuff, but especially for 2s).

And of course, give some rewards, since theres not any titles in 2s everybody deserts them... Some rewards like a special ground mount for the "supposed to be" gladiators (like gladiator's wolf/tiger/horse/raptor) or some transmog gear like the ones that you have for doing the challenge mode in dungeons.

This. I deboost on nearly all my chars (or just team swap 1-2 times every week) simply because I can't stand the queues at 2k+.

Think about how many of you Glads/Duelists play at 1.5k in 2s to cap. You're actually trouncing people who have dinged a fresh character. Definitely need some incentive to stop people deboosting in 2s, I imagine it puts a lot of people off. 1500 in 2s is sometimes scarier than 1700+ in 3s.

I don't want that but, if people would keep their personnal rating everytime like rbgs (supposing the team rating wouldnt count a lot), good players would not reset their rating all the time to cap, they would just keep their rating and fight people with the same rating.

The problem is 2s is so boring, if they could just buff damage and healing in 2s to create a much faster game, it be more similiar to lichking. In LK i loved 2s and it was an active bracket, when cata started i just wanted to do 10 games in 2s for fast cap, didnt even enjoy it. When mop hit i just got my cap from 3s. almost never play 2s.

During cata, double DPS was still viable though, which is what I played most of the time in 2s because it was fast-paced and that kept the games short and fun. Now that healing is completely out of whack, double dps isn't nearly as competitive unless you play hybrid/hybrid (IE shadow/feral), which in turn slows the games down again because you run and run and just offheal until you get an opportunity.

LOL what I just did to those guys with the mage just happened in the opposite to me... Just faced double relentless gladiators shadow priest and Rogue.  Was helping my friend cap his resto shaman that dinged 4-5 weeks ago... lets just say it wasn't pretty.  They were 1800 mmr we were 1400 mmr.

And by lulz I mean I play Shadow Priest/ Resto Shaman and it definately brings the lulz.

As said before, people "tank" their mmr to ~~1500 for faster que-times (so they can cap faster).

I usually just find a random PvE geared holy pala to cap 2v2 on my dk and just 15 - 0 every time. I'm sure those PvE heroes enjoy getting their free hot streak. :D

if 2v2 wasn't a joke they would have to balance 2v2 as well...they can't even balance 3v3 atm....not even sure if they are trying, considering how much they push rbgs down our throats

Capped the past few weeks with, generally as FDK/BM, equally geared (mostly up'd Dread) @ 1.7K MMR, had won almost every single game.

Zerged Healer almost every time and came out to win most games.

As for people with lower MMRs that are otherwise good players, well, if you haven't already heard of players selling queue times I'd be a bit surprised.

It's the new thing to do, at least on BH. Most of my guildies (mostly T2 players) sell wins @ 200-300 a pop.

You can make an absurd amount of gold from all the raiding heroes, no joke.
