The buff to deep wounds is by far the best dps buff they could have given us for defensive stance play. It's also the only one they could have made that didn't increase the damage of warriors swifty one shot macro(or, well, not by much).
But on live at the moment, deep wounds ticks for around 4.7-5k(depending on buffs like battle shout) on a 67% resil target. With the buff, It will obviously hit around 10k or so per tick. With full CDs/Procs (avatar) I could see ticks critting for around 35k.. It will also make TC our best DPR move if it hits 2 or more targets(assuming they do not already have the deep wounds debuff). But that's also just dot damage.. and whether that will matter or not will depend on the comp you play.
As far as reforging haste goes.. I don't really think that's a good idea in all honesty. If colossus smash were to still proc off autos, I could see it being a possible choice. But you lose around 7.07% mastery chance to basically double your haste... But that only drops your weapon speed from 3.36 to 3.17(you go from 6.93% attack speed to 13.37%. Using haste boots as well instead of mastery ones).
But since you don't gain rage from autos in Dstance, nor do you ever really have 100% up time, I think mastery wins out personally.
Though, personally, I think reforging into expertise over mastery(or haste) vs melee/hunter teams is the way to go(if you are talking min/maxing). Would be more rage gen and dps.
EDIT:
As far as bloodbath vs avatar goes.. This doesn't change anything there really. I generally go with bloodbath when I want a little bit more consistent pressure(also, many may not know this, but bloodbath does something semi special...). And then I go with avatar when I think the burst will prove to be more valuable.
And since we will lose glyph of hindering(as arms), people may like bloodbath a bit more since you will be able to ignore hamstring while it's active(up to 18 seconds of snare, yo).
