yes it is, but that wasn't the point of the example, the WB change was way way more necessary than the unstealth halo change (and to be quite honest, stealth nowadays is nowhere as fragile as it used to be, seems like you can stay in stealth forever with dots and aoe effects and its pretty sad)

Has anyone been trying out the new insanity, and if so is it worth getting a little wet over? I really cant see it being better than spike procs, but if it is this frees up a glyph slot for us (able to death cc again, anyone?).

Devouring Plague
Consumes all of the caster's Shadow Orbs to deal [*1,642 + 78.3% [*469 + 22.3% of Spell Power*] Shadow damage and an additional [*274 + 13% [*469 + 22.3% of Spell Power*] Shadow damage every 1 sec for 6 sec. Also heals the caster for 1% of their maximum health when it deals periodic damage. Damage and healing increased based on the number of Shadow Orbs consumed. Priest - Shadow Spec. All Shadow Orbs. 40 yd range. Instant.

bold values are the new ptr-values

can anyone say, whether this is a nerf or not damage-wise in total?

Didn't they say a couple of days (or weeks?) ago that they wanted DP damage to be the same, but spread out for the duration of DP. That way it nerfs the PvP burst but keeps PvE DPS the same.

It doesn't really change anything. Most the time it's cast inside of a stun with a silence to follow it up, that covers the duration of it.

Disc is being over buffed, and none of the rogue buffs or the monk thing have been reverted. From one extreme to another.

So now DP is like a mini combust?  Maybe that combined with that mind flay type thing cause multi-pressure comps to come back?  Splay anyone?

Purify/cleanse/detox etc. Devouring will be quite useless vs any comp combining 2 of those.

didnt change shit... those are the DP values for the burst "nerf" they announced last week meaning bigger DoT and basically no initial burst
maybe splay will be decent next patch!

I don't like the Devouring Plague change. It might work well with Insanity, but like someone else said somewhere, it's impossible to channel Mind Flay due to the existence of Warriors and every melee having a zillion abilities to stop casting

I feel like this is further promoting the retarded 'hope for a lot of procs and gib something or go OOM and lose' play style. DoT damage doesn't have a place in MoP, unless damage and healing is completely rebalanced so nobody is throwing 100k+ instants.

Also, giving up Mind Spike procs for Insanity sounds terrible. As it stands, our entire burst only does about 100k (probably less) unless something crits, which it probably won't. I feel like I can't get kills without a lot of Mind Spike procs chaining together.

i agree, the only time we have a chance to kill someone is when we have three orbs + all procs we can get. and even then it's nothing guaranteed, thanks to mongoloid-stuns/-silences everywhere
