Official Blizzard Quote:

  • Angelic Bulwark's Spirit Shell can no longer be dispelled.
  • For Shadow, this ability causes Mind Flay to gain the Insanity effect when it's cast on a target with 3 Shadow damage-over-time spells on them. Insanity causes Mind Flay to deal double damage for the duration.
  • Devouring Plague now deals its damage evenly through its duration.
  • Focused Will is now a passive for Holy priests as well as Discipline priests.
  • Flash Heal's healing has been reduced by 30%. A new passive (available at level 10) increases Flash Heal's healing by 43% for Holy and Discipline Priests.
  • Power Word: Solace has been replace with a new talent: Solace & Insanity.
    • For Holy and Discpline, Power Word: Solace replaces Holy Fire. It deals the same damage, and interacts with other spells and abilities in the same manner, but is instant, costs no mana, and restores 1% of maximum mana on each cast.
  • Glyph of Desperation has been replaced with Glyph of Binding Heal. Pain Suppression and Guardian Spirit can now always be cast while stunned.
  • New Glyph: Glyph of Binding Heal applies Binding Heal a third nearby friendly target, but costs 35% more mana.
  • Glyph of Inner Focus has been replaced with Glyph of Weakened Soul. Casting Inner Focus now always grants 5 seconds of immunity to Silences, Interrupts, and Dispels.
  • New Glyph: Glyph of Weakened Soul reduces the duration of Weakened Soul by 2 seconds.
  • Discipline
    • Penance damage and healing has been increased by 20%.
    • Rapture now reduces the cost of Power Word: Shield by 50% and provides mana equal to 150% of the Priest's Spirit, but no longer benefits from Spirit provided by short-duration bonuses.
    • Divine Aegis is no longer guaranteed when Prayer of Healing is cast. The effect now procs when the spell crits.
    • The 2-piece Holy/Discipline PvP set bonus is now the previous Holy Spark 4-piece bonus, instead of Diamond Soul.
  • The 4-piece Holy/Discipline PvP set bonus has been redesigned. It now reduces the cooldown of Chakra by 25 seconds. When Spirit Shell is active the mana cost of Flash Heal is reduced by 50%.
Thoughts? I think the Flash Heal nerf for Shadow is too much, but the Disc changes (especially the glyphs being made baseline) are nice.

Well they nerfed flash heal for shadow but buffed pvp power by 25% so things like pom, renew, prayer of mending will be stronger.

Does this mean that the initial dmg on cast is gone?

  • Devouring Plague now deals its damage evenly through its duration.

Strangulate cooldown has been reduced to 60 seconds, up from 120.

So.. you remove one blanket silence and you make strangulate which has always been fucking retarded even better? Logic.

EDIT: gg of course I posted in the priestforum.. Ah well strangulate buff affect priests :((((((

I don't see how strangulate is retarded atm. We needed a change like this because we lack cc

I'd rather give dks cc, because I do agree you barely have any. But buffing strangulate is not the way to go.

So latest and accurate info is 50%? Seen some sources saying it's 25% and MMO says:" Rapture now reduces the cost of Power Word: Shield by 25% 50% and provides mana equal to 150% 250% (was 200%) of the Priest's Spirit, but no longer benefits from Spirit provided by short-duration bonuses. "
So 50% or 25%?

on ptr it still does its initial dmg


and for those who wanna know smth about the new SW:insanity; mindflay insanity does about 30k ticks on dummys. (with t2 and full epic)

They are addressing mana, output, and survivability.  I don't think it's too much although it would have been better to nerf the other healers output instead.

DK damage is too high to give them any sort of CC buff, imo. Unless I'm mistaken, it's by far the highest in the game, which makes it too high. I've done a few 3s with a fully geared DK, and even turreting with full DoTs rolling all game, I can't compete with his damage.

I think we still have CC issues and need an instant heal. There are too many ways for a single melee to lock us down, let alone two melee.

Much needed change that was ruining arena experience for the entire community:

Halo - will not longer unstealth enemy targets. That wasn't the use we had in mind when we made it a huge AE.

A spell you can avoid by being LoS and costs 40k mana is ruining the arena experience for everyone?

I thought it was shit like warbringer>shockwave, or 30s tremor and excessive amounts of instant spells!
