It works not only without LoS, but also while rooted. The skill is pretty interesting, but depends on the rogue being able to restealth a lot to be effective. Means priest shields will be very good for rogues and Fearie Fire will remain the single most annoying spell in the game.

Yes I think it's better, but just to clarify, it does not work with Sap. you can sap and then open even through LoS. Will cost some cool stuff, like focus-ShS-Kick or catching traps with ShS.

But you can pull of so many insane things, like kiting someone down on Blade's Edge and then open from below on the hiding healer.

Its a cool idea, if it required LoS then it'd be balanced, considering the disadvantages of loosing shadowstep.

Personally, i'm never dropping shadowstep.

With subterfuge + energy change you can easily CC an entire 3s team every opener, without having to pop a single cd, or needing LOS. It is pretty ridiculous.

Honestly just nerf warriors, and prep baseline and they'll be 100% fine, don't add this garbage to the game...

Subterfuge will achieve the same thing as well, although both together could be pretty interesting.

openers like, sap one target > premed SnD > focus cheap shot second target > redirect > cheap shot third target.

would cost 115 energy, SnD is up and running and also gives you 4 combo points on your target after cheap shot.

is subterfuge still bugging out dance bars on ptr or did they fix it?

Subterfuge will not defend You from a flair.

I think Cloak and Dagger will be a lot stronger with Subterfuge. You can abuse it for mobility, teleport to totems and pets. Subterfuge essentially allows you to teleport around the map with Cloak and Dagger. Maybe gimmicky, but I think it's opening up a lot of new possibilities, even more than step/prep/step did.
