maybe give another titel for 5v5? and another rank 1 5v5 titel so that its possible to see which bracket you got the title from

problem with 5s isnt that the competition is bad, the problem is that its unbalanced as fuck ( 3s is aswell, hi warriors / spriests / ferals )
R1 isnt about the competition for most people, thats why you see top players transferring to the shittiest BGs to get it without any COMPETITION, getting r1 like that would for me be just a title without a value.

5v5 titles are no more impressive than Hero of the ..... titles are. They shouldn't even be counted as gladiators let alone rank 1.

Not really but its still a bit harder to do it in a bracket that isn't compeltly dead since WoLTk.

5s is probably more balanced than 3s. Problem is the only real competition is on 1 bg in the bracket(bg9) and a bunch of dweebs just transfer to some awful bg where the highest teams are likely 2300. Best idea was the battlegroup reduction given by norbok

IMO taking the titles away from 2v2 allowed them to become 10x more lazy and become even worse at balancing the game because 2s was the bracket with the most participation and it was actually a ton of fun in BC and S5/6.

5/6 were really stupid of course because they put DKs in the game and that one class single handily ruined the entire bracket/game so if they actually balanced the game around 2s, it would be a much better game like in BC imo.

Pretty much this. 2's are basically the replacement to skirmishes now. The majority of the time anyone even queues them is for point cap or out of boredom. Just bring the titles back and make the bracket more competitive again even if it's unbalanced. The whole game is unbalanced anyway, so who cares. Just makes it more fun imo.

And on topic, removing titles from 5's is a terrible idea.

Edit: The game being unbalanced doesn't make it more fun, more competition does.

You'll never get community support for this, half of the "multi-R1s" in both regions just get R1 from the Welfare bracket anyway, and it also where pretty much all the R1 title sales come from.

How will these people possible massage their ego anymore by not getting R1 in 5s?

i sometimes feel like titles should just be removed from everything and give a different incentive to do well in arena. i.e. transmog gear or something as people seem to feel that titles still seem to matter. people essentially pay to play a game for a week to hit glad range then just play alts or 2s the rest of the season.

3v3s is the most imbalanced of all the brackets. COMP>ALL, at least in 5s if you find the right ppl you can get rank 1 running random stuff. OBV some comps are stronger but I've seen so many random KFC's be rank 1, and I havnt even heard of them before.

I agree with Snackumz that titles now don't seem to give much incentive for people to push rating as it feels like people merely just sit the rating. I don't think titles should be removed however this is coming from someone on Cyclone and not a dead battlegroup where it seems R1 sells transfer to and sit.
