It is the same as paying to watch someone who is watching TV. Ofc it would have been different if the streamers did tutorials etc. And lol at bold

How is paying 15$ a month for 10-30 hours (depending how much you play) of entertainement a week while a movie ticket is like 8$ for a 2h30 - 4h00 movie at most isn't smart?

I am not sure if this is a serious post.How is paying 15 bucks for a computer game a vice? I can understand if someone is addicted to mounts, cards, statues whatever they sell in blizz store but I don't think that applies to the majority of the people in pvp community.

Also , I don't understand why people find it unimaginable that someone donates to a streamer. When you enjoy the meal, you tip the restaurant staff or when you enjoy the live music at a pub etc, you tip the performer, it's the same concept.  It doesn't make you a fanboy moron that throws money away, it's just social etiquette; you have fun watching a stream, you support the streamer.
That said I don't find reckful's stream interesting, it's too much about donations and kinda dull but I subscribed to 1 channel and don't find it weird at all.

Good for them, it is good to see people are still enjoying the game.  All I seem to do is show up late to raids so I don't have to pve then do dailies and log off.

Well when you think of it solely monetarily sure 15 bucks is not a lot. Think about the amount of TIME we have all pissed away playing this game though, and I am not bashing anyone I do it too. My point was more along the lines of why would any of us have the audacity to troll someone for donating to something they find entertaining when we ourselves literally waste our lives doing stupid shit too. Donating some bucks for something you enjoy is no more or less pathetic than what most of us do on a daily basis.

More people have paid $100 for a steak than have donated $100 to streamers. Just because 3 people have donated $100-1000 doesn't mean everyone else has.

Afaik only one person has gone above $1500 and it wasn't all at once. The whole topic is dumb. I've watched online streams for probably in the region of 50-75+ hours. That's a hell of a lot of entertainment for 'free', if I had the money to I sure as hell would show my support to keep my favourites streaming.

I casually see 100$ donations in multiple streams. This is pure fanboism by kids that stole their dad's credit card. Donating 1-5$ is OK- wasting in excess of 100$ like that means you didn't earn them yourself. I pity the guys that make money from streaming because some day the milking cow will go dry, and when they look for a job they won't be able to put "r1 wow streamer full time" under their CV's qualifications.

Your $1-5 is other people's $100-$2000. People can donate whatever amount they see fit to support streamers who provide entertainment.They are not going to donate less because socio-economic norms for donations of the AJ poster Braindance  dictate that if you donate more than $100 you either inherited your money or stole your dad's card.

People that could donate 100-2000$ of their own money certainly do not play wow, and even if they did they would be random, anonymous players you didn't know that exist. I don't dictate, I deduct.
