[Kerberus]

First time I visit this part of the forums and since I just cracked open a new bottle (Aberlour 12 yr), I ask of you: which one is your favorite whisky?

Of the bottles that I personally own, my favorite is a Laphroaig PX Cask which I picked up at the airport last summer. I like them well-rounded but strong nonetheless, and the sherry in this one does the trick.




Any other whisky lovers out there?

It depends.

When I hear whiskey I think Irish whiskey or Canadian Rye.  If that's the case I go cheap and good.  Can't go wrong with Jameson or Forty Creek.

If you are talking about Bourbon...no idea, I don't like that stuff.

If you are talking about Scotch (which I'm sure you are), I'll agree with you that the best bottle I had was also Laphroaig.  I bought a "cheap" bottle though and it cost 85$ for 750ml , which is really too expensive and I probably wont buy another. Unfortunately I have yet to develop a good palate for scotch.

Definitely Laphroaig for me. Expensive as fuck here aswell, but rather have a bottle of Laphroaig than 20 bottles of Jack Daniels or CC.

I will never understand why anybody likes JD raw. Mixed, yes, it's probably the best for that, both price and taste wise.

On topic: Jameson is usually my go-to drink at pubs/clubs/etc if I'm drinking it raw (with ice). JD with cola/juice. The above linked Dimple is probably the best I've tried out of the more expensive stuff, but then again I didn't try much, never tasted Laphroaig f.ex.

By the way, on the subject of bourbons, I actually really like Jim Beam sometimes. It's like, when I'm bored of Jameson or just want something lighter, but don't want to mix. It's just much softer than Jameson.

I also tried Jim Beam red once, the one with cherry, and it was gorgeous. Only seen it once though, can't find it in this city anymore : (

I love forty creek though.  I can drink it like water.

laphroaig tastes and smells so fucking bad. to much peat. impossible to sit beside someone drinking one.

lagavulin is very nice, rep for that. up until now i only tasted scotch whiskys, will go now to some exotic japanese ones and try them out, and maybe buy some more expensive bourbon bottle, not you regular jim beam, although that one is the best when you want to go for a low price whiskey.
