I fail to see how bartender would mess up someone using the standard ui:

You just need to learn to "touch-type" your abilities. Once you have that down, your awareness will significantly improve. Just don't tunnel, and learn what you need to watch for.

If you need any clarification, tell me. I'd be happy helping you get to "that level" which I describe.

No I didn't mean that.

I meant you need to be able to know what you're doing with your fingers without ever looking at your keyboard, paying attention to globals/resource systems (especially as a DK)/your fingers.

Just like learning how to type without ever looking at your keyboard, so you can type much faster, you need to be able to do the same with your abilities.

That's why if you switch up keybinds around, you will play like shit for like a month, depending on how much you play. There's also somewhat of a correlation to fast keyboard typists and good WoW players, from what I've seen.

Most of my 2.2k+ friends type at least 80wpm, the fastest I've done is like 170, but i average about 130.

Your instrument is your keyboard, learn your instrument. Once you get that down, you just need to use your arena knowledge to pay attention what to look for. Although, I can't help you with this since I've moved on from WoW after the MoP bullshit.

naw most people who play pc games can type fast  specifically ones with keybinds the global cooldown alone stops speed from being a issue in wow pvp

I wouldn't say most.

The problem is, if you don't know your abilities by heart (and I mean, when you need to use them, you're not looking at your fingers to hit an ability, or consistently looking at your action bars) then your awareness will never be acceptable.

I think you just need to train your muscle memory. Perhaps organize some friends in a wargame, and just make them cast moves. Move around as if it were an arena match, but have them cast in an orderly fashion (arena1 first, then arena 2, then arena3). Slowly make them more random, and modify this approach to whatever you find necessary.

That is a great way to test new keybinds without worrying about rating. Once you get the hang of it, play some wargames, and concentrate on doing something well.

"The next time I fight a mage team, I want to wind shear all the polymorphs."

Then concentrate on doing that. Make a post-it note on your goddamn screen edge if you need to. Eventually, arena1/2/3 will become second nature.

Your interface is fine. You're just not used to it and the concept of arena123 yet. Enable class colored nameplates for enemies if you haven't already. Otherwise, I'm not sure how I can help you more.

you have the whole global cooldown to hit the key which is why in wow pvp speed is hardly as much a factor as in other games

It isn't, but what I said is still important. Anyways, if you aren't comfortable with that speed anyways, then you're going to have problems.
