I just use the way i gem.
Example 1 jc+ bs:

Head

160 Str+320 pvp power
BONUS 180 Resi

Legs

160 Str+320 pvp power
320 pvp power
Bonus 120 Resi

All combined:
320 Str
960 pvp power
300 Resi

Example 2 enchanting(whatever)+ bs:

Head

80 Str+160pvp power
Bonus 180 Resi

Legs

320 pvp power
320 pvp power
no bonus

2x160 str on ringenchant

All combined:
400 Str
800 pvp power
180 Resi

jc+bs vs ench+bs
-80 Str
+160 pvp power
+120 Resi


its not big of a difference. but still, i think jc+bs will be the best profession for an offensive gemmed warrior. because the new jc gems give 160str+320 pvp power but count as a purple gem.

I think that BS + Leatherworking is better but atm Blacksmith is the best profession.

(i dont like the fact that JC dont have some PvP Power or Resilience special gems)



Edit : Leatherworking or Enchant, theres also tailoring / inscription that gives the same bonuses, its as you like i would say.

(but enchant is more interesting if you want to make golds / level this profession without taking all the recipients at the AH).

in my opinion, blacksmithing is the best simply because you get to pick what stats to go for rather then tunnel stats!

w/e second I have no opinion

and once epic gems rolls in id be interested to see if JC gems gets updated or left behind to rot.

JC gems has never been updated with the introduction of epic gems, I don't see any reason as to why Blizzard would start now.

If you put them into blue sockets, you'd just gain a flat 320 str, which is the same that LW/enchanting/etc all offer.

However, since it "Matches a Red or Blue Socket.", you can put them in red sockets and gain 160 str and 320 pvp power, which is better than LW/enchanting/etc.

Basically you get the option to trade in 160 str for 320 pvp power, which is a small damage upgrade (approximately a 0.3% damage boost over enchanting).  Whether it's worth spending the gold on it is up to you, but if you're just looking to min max then it looks like JC will be the way to go now (after blacksmithing still).

And like someone else mentioned, if they neglect to buff JC gems when epic gems eventually come out, then it may go from one of the best profs to the absolute worst again.

(And if you favor resil over pvp power, the above will still all apply, you just make sure to always put JC gems in red sockets.)

Tailoring + Engineering, mainly because I don't see any reason not too. Few players even swapped to this combo after playing with me, melee partners for the most part.

Lining up your synapse springs with swordguard is basically 8000+ Attack power right now... That seems more spicy than the other professions and its got me some crazy critical strikes without even using Avatar. No idea on nerd math, but I don't think it's rocket science. Burst to me has always been the way to go in PVP, I just don't know why this combo gets overlooked I feel it's definitely under utilized. I see the proc going up on ICD and I use springs to full effect, those steady stat increases, no thanks. You fellas can stay deep and keep it under the magnifying glass, but not me I stay HAM.

The way I see it is that A healer is gonna see your damage as predictable or unpredictable which would you invest more in? Be a man.
