tfb/slam change is an absolutely amazing buff. Tried on the PTR and it flows so well


From a realistic point of view they need to completely remove shockwave, significantly redesign how rage and stances work before warriors even begin to step down

How does Covlol have access? If you don't realise DStance is too strong  you have serious issues. With your logic why don't you give Mages / Rogues / Ferals a permanent -25% dmg taken and see how it goes.
I'm not saying it should reduce dmg by less than 25% since that would be a nerf to PvE but as someone already suggested you shouldn't be able to have big CD's while in Dstance ( reck deadly calm banners down ) for a start and work from there.
Also, unless I'm mistaken the current change to schockwave affects mages / hunters / spriests / locks more than other classes since they have pets which count for the 3 targets. They should make it 3 players instead of targets.

Or they could just remove the "striking 3 or more targets will reduce its cooldown by 20 seconds" part and leave Shockwave at a base 40 seconds. Alternatively I'd like to see Throwdown or a similar controlled single target stun reintroduced that isn't attached to charge.

The other stances offer nothing significant + without def stance we take as much dmg as rogues take without feint. If they give bstance 10-15% reduction then it's ok. And the shockwave change is nice because now you might have to think before you use and not just spam it on cooldown. And don't forget that warrior is designed to only do damage in melee range meaning that he also tanks damage - ferals can put some strong dots and run, dks got some ranged attacks etc - we don't. So we are compensated with passive reduction. 25% is too much yes, but lower than 10-15% would destroy us.

take defstance away and warriors are dead in the current state of arena. everytime i stancedance in 2s i get punished with 80% life deep freezes from a single mage.

What was wrong with throwdown? Throwdown would be a great thing to put in place of shockwave, and only make it AOE for protection.

This doesn't stop the problem. Right now there is no incentive to leave D stance and this will make it even less. In D stance warr is too tanky, but outside of it they are too squishy.

Why can't blizz just do what many warriors have already suggested? 10-15% DMR in battle stance and increased rage costs in defensive stance.

Battle fatigue is currently not affecting second wind/other self heals on the ptr at the moment(could just be a bug, but i'm 90% sure the BF debuff was reducing healing from second wind when the ptr first came up today).

As well, the Blitz glyph now works with warbringer.

A few plus sides so far.

Problem with this is PvE again tough. DPS from tanks is now factored in enrage timers for heroic modes, and things like challenge modes. They are based on doing more damage as they take more damage themselves, in Challenge Modes i could hit 150k DPS on my War as prot on some trashpacks or more and Prot Wars are already 10% behind Death Knights and close to 20% behind Monks, they are the very bottom.

I agree sitting in D.Stance all day is dumb but i don't think there's an easy answer for it atm other than nerf the reduction. The only thing i could see is decrease the passive rage regen from it and bring back some of the rage gained from damage taken but only from non-player targets, or simply make abilities like Mortal Strike generate half the rage while in D.Stance.

Why did you list hunters in there? We have to choose between 15% damage reduction or self healing. Deterrence cannot be used while CC'd, and hunters don't have anything else to reduce damage (unless you want to add Disengage/Feign Death as a defensive cooldown, but then I'll just laugh at you). Oh, I guess there's pet sac too. Our pets will get widdled down to about 50% from a sac, and then you can easily switch and kill it rendering the hunter basically fucked for the rest of the match.

hunter still have the 15% dmg reduction right? thats the only point im making.

Yes, if they spec for it. Exhilaration is better against some comps though.

I see 1 comp where hunters are truly viable. Coincidentally, that comp also contains a warrior, which have multiple comps where they're viable. Correlation does not imply causation. Hunters synergize well with warriors. Take away the warrior, add anything else, and the comp is a lot less 'overpowered'.

Note: I'm not saying hunter's are 100% balanced. There are definitely quirky mechanics that I've advocated change of (e.g; readiness resetting bestial wrath and instant pet CC. That being said, I believe a lot of people exaggerate hunter balance right now.
