Hey monks, I've been trying to think of some good setups for windwalker monks this patch.

I get WW isn't great but I still think it's glad viable given the right setup. I've been thinking enhance or feral/monk/h pala for anti caster comp, or destro/monk/h pala where basically nothing shares DR. Due to the amounts of stuns and peels that windwalkers have I think destro might be good just because they should be able to get casts off.

Anyone have any ideas?

Affli or Destro Warlock + Monk + Paladin or Shaman is really good
MM Hunter + Monk + Priest is viable (played it @~ 2500-2600)
Mage + Monk + Pries is ok

So far I've played Spriest monk healer (rdruid, hpal, and prolly rsham soon) and have been 2k-2.1.

On a follow up, kenkon, why do you have 9% expertise, is it worth trying to go for so much?

This is due to high amount of warriors/hunters/ferals on our bg, missing (parried or dodged) rising sun kick several times in a row really screws everything up. Might be better to have a balance between mastery and expertise depending on setups, but I like to be sure that my rsk or leg sweep hits the target when I need it.

Tbh, I don't feel like there is much difference between 15 and 20 per cent mastery proc, but 5% in expertise is noticeable.

Right I agree with not wanting my important stuff getting parried, but isn't the "soft cap" like 6%? Or am I just reading the tool tip wrong. I do notice that at 6% I still get parried from time to time.

i thought it was too, it says 0% to parry on the tooltip..  even for 6% it feels like everything is reforged to that..

Don't forget that tooltip shows "soft cap" for PvE purposes ;-)

right well isn't the soft cap more than enough in pvp? The 3% hit sure is, so I don't follow why the 6% for parry wouldn't be.

As I said, it depends on your ladder. If there are lots of warriors, ferals and hunters (who got like 8-9% melee avoidance), it is more profitable to stack expertise. Anyway you don't have that much of a choice. Mastery? Meh. Haste? NO!

As a hunter I can mention that i have 9+% dodge and I'm a bit over the soft cap also on expertise since i fucking hate getting scatter dodged against melees/hunters...

STR users get more parry , ex my warrior has 15% parry
AGI users get more dodge , ex my enhance has 10% dodge

if you have 6% expertise and i have 15% parry ...... 15>6
